I assume you're referring to Orcs Must Die 2. Most of the maps are co-op based. I ended up joining an Orcs Must Die 2 steam group and found people to play with after posting messages to the boards there.

Anyone have any experience with Rising storm? The concept of having a weaker, more tactics-based side is appealing, but is it done well? There's a fine line between "designed to force you to use tactics" and "this side has a bunch of cool but useless skills."

I hear Vanilla Civ 5 is mediocre compared to Civ IV, but that the expansions make it pretty awesome. If the game's given a flash sale I imagine the expansions will have some discount too, so it might be a decent deal for $10-15 if they bundle things.

Sleeping dogs and all its dlc content %75 off, if you love open world games like gta4 and missed this one, grab it. Its more of the same but a heavy oriental setting and a combat system more like the batman series. I actually didn't pay attention to all the dlc stuff... looks like I got some things to do now!

Don't forget to check Amazon. I bought the "2K Strategy Super Pack" [Civ 5 Gold edition, Gods and Kings DLC, Civ 4 complete, and the Stronghold collection] for $15 back in February. All of them are Steamable, too.

As someone who actually played Aliens:CM, it's not as bad as people make it out to be. It's very cinematic, scripted, atmospheric, mildly entertaining sci-fi FPS where you shoot aliens in the face. No worse than AvP 2010. Storyline is sub-par, but the missions are varied enough to keep you distracted. Soundtrack and voice acting are both pretty well-done.

Patches fixed the bad AI and other bugs plaguing the game at release, and they also upgraded the graphics and added high-resolution textures, tweaked the lighting, and introduced a film-grain effect. Overall it's a solid romp. Not GOTY material by any means but it's not bad either. Just mediocre is all.

Part of the game's poor reception was due to people having ridiculously high hopes for it. Gamers apparently fail at expectation management. It was clear for a long time that it would be run-of-the-mill FPS.

I can agree with this. The game was never as bad as people made it out to be. I'm not saying the game is great or anything, but it wasn't as bad as the picture was painted for it. I thought it was ok and enjoyed it for what it was. A lot of the disappointment simply comes from being Aliens and you can just imagine how much better it could be if done properly, but we can say that about many games sadly.
