Quoting you claiming $3.69 is more towards $3 than $4. Wow what a nut

Really? Can you please quote where I said $3.69 is more "towards" $3 than $4? Go ahead, please link me to the exact post where I said that. I'll be waiting. You can't quote it because I never said it. The "quote" you provided above said no such thing and it is obvious you didn't understand a word I said. Maybe some reading remediation is in order for you?

I should've known not to use large words like calculus in a post to you. Here was my EXACT quote in full:

IndyColtsFan said:
There's that inexact (and incorrect) terminology again. $3.69 is not "towards" $4. At. All. Towards implies motion, which a single numerical value does not capture. If you're familiar with calculus (which you're obviously not), you would know this. Others also explained this to you earlier but you couldn't grasp it and in the meantime, we all pointed and laughed.

Debating with you is like shooting fish in a barrel, except I think the fish are more intelligent.

I didn't shift any goal posts. The posts are engrained here on the Internet forever for all to see.
Of course you did and several posters called you on it. Here was your game:

DAVE ON DAY 1: I can't find gas under $3.50 anywhere along the NW/N side!
ICF ON DAY 1: I see several here (link to gas buddy)
DAVE ON DAY 1: Those places aren't "regular" gas stations but places with member discounts.
ICF ON DAY 1: I filled up at BP today for under $3.50. That's "regular," as are several of the stations I linked.
...
...
DAVE ON DAY 2 (after a gas increase): HA! I'll bet you $50 you can't find me gas under $3.50/gallon!
ICF AND OTHERS: No shit, it went up 5-10 cents last night. You're moving the goal posts.

McOWNED said:
Hell next time you try and pull that shit I will stand on the corner of 86th and Michigan at the Shell station with $100 cold hard cash to entice you to come up to the "ghetto" up here on the North side not far from where multi-Billionaires live just on the other side of 465.
What asinine bet is it you want to have exactly? Will this be like the one above, where you keep delaying and shifting goal posts?

I used to work in that general area you tool. Know that huge HP configuration center off of Georgetown? I helped wire it back in the late 90s.

I know the College Park area very well. I was referring to the 56th-62nd Georgetown area. Also, BTW, there are very few multi-billionaires in the Indy area -- if memory serves, only 2 or 3.

McOWNED said:
Edit: Oil jumped $2 today, you may get your chance at $100 sooner than later.

Let's see how quickly your buds jack the price over $3.50 here.
And if they do, what are you going to do about it? Are you going to not buy or are you going to complain? Here's a clue -- buy when you know it will be cheap (ie, generally not on a holiday weekend or on Friday).

Pretty veiled way in which you are admitting once again the price was exactly as I said it was.

Why do you keep trying to hide it?

and there it is. You admit to have wired the old Rock Island facility.

An Oil Thug all along.

Go figure.

You mean "exactly like you said it was" when you said gas was going to hit $5/gal and possible $6/gal by spring? Is that what you mean? Because that never happened either.

Why do you keep trying to hide it?
No one is hiding anything. This is common sense. If you know prices are higher on the weekends, here is a clue -- buy gas in the middle of the week. The fact is for all your bluster, you've been incredibly wrong. You predicted $5+/gal gas for the spring and that never even remotely happened. OMG, gas goes up near the weekend and on holiday weekends?!?!? STOP THE PRESSES FOLKS! Dave has come to a revelation that the rest of us had years and years ago!

Do you bitch about hotels raising their prices in busy season too? What about airfare -- do you bitch about that being more expensive at certain times of the year too?

I admitted I wired the Rock Island Facility? Really? Care to quote that? Of course you won't quote it -- you'll just ignore this part of my post and hope I'll forget. I won't though, because it is another in a long line of example that show you're a liar and probably mentally ill.

There you have it folks, read my post and see for yourself that Dave McOwned is now making stuff up right in front of our very own eyes.

Quoted for posterity:

Meanwhile already closing in on $3.50 heading towards $4 and it's only January.

Looks like will easily pass $5 once again and close in on $6 this spring.

Don't see any of the stations on the low side on the Oil Thug price sites.

All the stations in the NW part of Indy are around the $3.45 on the bottom part of the web page

Please Dave, please keep digging your hole deeper. You're just making yourself look like an even bigger fool which I thought was nearly impossible. Do you have to really exert effort to be this stupid, or does it just come naturally? I used to think you were just a troll that was bored and did this for kicks, but if you really are a troll, you're very, very bad at it.

I saw Georgetown and thought BP, at the end of Georgetown is the old Rock Island. HP is back down between 78th and 71st. So what does the HP facility have to do with the Gas?

You're the one with a mental issue.

By that logic, given that the"Oil Tugs" utilize cell phones and McOwen has setup cell towers/systems, he is also a "Oil Thug"

Must take one to know one()

If you need to know about oil, you talk to oil experts. If you need to know how to illegally install distributed computing software on your employer's computers, well, talk to Dave.

Are you really that retarded? Seriously? How about you go reread my post. You acted as if I didn't know much about the area you were talking about and I said "I used to work in the general area -- I wired the HP (as in HEWLETT PACKARD) configuration center in the late 90s." Last time I checked, HP made computers, not gasoline.

You brought up the issue of location.

He indicated that he knew the area.

You just put your foot in your mouth (AGAIN) by trying to make 1+1=3.

You sure don't know anything about the gas stations here, you leave no doubt about that.

Your world is overly simplistic.

i didnt grow up in an overly simplistic world. parents lost most everything at one point, but then did what needed to be done to get ahead. dad worked 70-90 hours a week for years starting at minimum wage in his 30s to just get above water. made progress, not excuses. dealt with it, didn't whine about it.

And the US job situation was much different then than it is now.

/offshoringUSAMiddleClassJobs

and none of that has anything to do with the fact that YOU are effected by higher gas prices, whether you admit it or not (as you stated above).

*Any* suggestion that people do something for themselves is always met by "THAT'S UMPOSSIBLE WAAHHHHGGHHHHH DEY OFFSHORED URR JERBS!!!" by the Pity Party crowd.

Yeah, yeah. No one can move.(Those of us that ever did, did so after harvesting from the money trees growing out back of our beachside mansions) No one can afford to drive a car (that's why none of us sit in bumper to bumper traffic every day, we imagine that we did). There's no such thing anymore as a job. Everyone's on minimum wage (what is it, like 2% of wage-earners or something, but around here it's suddenly like 99%).

And of course in the past, the streets were paved with gold, good jobs just rained from trees and they all paid Bill Gates wages, they gave away gas and transportation and everything was more awesome than awesome. (Once again, I guess it was just people's imaginations about drafts, riots, stagflation, oil crisis gas lines, high misery index, etc.) Nope, everything was golden.

I don't know what the point of this thread is except to listen to Dave's wildly inaccurate predictions, the resulting doubling-down as his insanity is called out, and people complaining about gas prices. Yeah, I don't like the volatile nature of gas prices either but I do a few things to try to reduce the costs:

1. When I worked in downtown Indy, the wife and I carpooled every day. That cut our gasoline bill nearly in half in addition to saving mileage and significant wear and tear on one car.
2. I generally try to fill up mid-week in order to avoid any potential weekend increases.
3. I don't drive a gas guzzling car. Could I get a more fuel efficient one? Yes, but my car is paid off, still runs relatively well, and at this point in my career, I'm working from home so my infrequent driving isn't worth the cost of a new car.
4. I'd try to coordinate errands and shopping trips so I'd knock out multiple stops in one trip as opposed to making several.

I really don't know what you guys want us to say or expect to be done about the prices. Do you expect the government to subsidize it or suspend taxes on gas? If they do that, guess who ends up paying eventually? If you suspect there is collusion and price-fixing going on, write your Congress representatives and ask for an investigation.

And a free piece of advice to any of you lurkers or newbies reading this thread -- ignore Dave. He is the resident alarmist who makes ridiculous predictions that never come true (See: $5 or $6/gal gas by spring 2014, $10/gal gas coming soon, $5 (or was it $10?) milk, etc).

EDIT: Oh, and about moving -- I've never had to move outside of Indiana in my entire life except when I left home for school or bought a new house in the same area. That's the advantage of living near a large city. I was once told I might have to move to Tonawanda, NY -- I found another job rather than be stranded in Bumfuck, NY.

You want the $50 bet.

Find a location in Indianapolis for regular fuel at $4+ within 5 miles of the I-465 loop.

Get it verified by a picture and you get $50. Maybe I will pay it in a fuel card :hmm:

This offer expires noon on the 17th of Sept 2014 Eastern Daylight Time.
You have almost 24 hours to put up where the summation of your $0.30 increases are.

Or are you ready to admit that your are an OIL TROLL

Clock is ticking - 4 hours left.

Has anyone seen a post by McOwened accepting the $50.

Or has he slunk off because again he has been shown up.

In case he actually has an ignore list; someone please quote this.
