My wife called me this morning and said she saw $2.61 on the way into work today! It seems that St. Louis has some of the lowest gasoline prices in the U.S.
Wow, gas prices are plummeting. Remember when people said that BLS inflation numbers were a lie because of gas? I wonder what they say now.
Gas prices from my trip:
Gas prices:
10/08 Naperville, IL $3.159
10/09 Elizabethtown, KY $2.969
10/09 Chattanooga, TN $2.969
10/12 Kimball, TN $2.949
10/13 Paducah, KY $2.999
10/13 Naperville, IL $3.009
Prices managed to go down for me.
I'm sure that according to McOwned you meant $2,799. THANKS, OIL THUGS.
Holy crap, the day before I paid $2.799 in one part of Chattanooga (well, the greater Chattanooga area anyway) you paid $2.969 in another. That's serious free-fall. Or maybe price war . . .Gas prices from my trip:

I read what's at all three of the links and watched the additional video and nowhere in any of them does it say that any energy companies are threatening to shut down US production. You're just making stuff up now.
no US company is going to be shutting down or slowing down production. I live in a county on the Colorado plains that has gone literally fracking crazy. there are wells all over the place. there is big big money being spent in my county by Halliburton, BP and others and they will make a huge profit. and they are paying good money for work. a friend owns a KOA campground and he has been booked solid for 2 years and has a waiting list for oil field workers looking to park their RV. i sure do wish i had some mineral rights.
The US is now producing more oil than ever before and that has given us huge leverage over, Iran, Venezuela, saudi arabia. They base their budgets on 100 buck per barrel and right now they are hurting at the current price of 80 per barrel.
so yea there is a big glut of oil right now and there is no end in sight, oil prices will continue to drop and $2.50 average nationwide in the near future is a real possibility. this is good news and will give our economy a much needed shot in the arm this holiday season because consumers will have more cash from low gas prices to infuse into the local economies.

You should go back to school, your reading skills are obviously seriously lacking.
I'll try big and bold characters for you but doubt it will help, only education can.

Ah, so you're reaffirming that none of the articles you linked to earlier said that "Energy Companies threatening to shut down U.S. production again as usual." Got it.
Speaking of broken clocks....Don't worry, they will go back up. History always repeats itself, always.
and all I could do is shake my head and say Wow.
Very sad.

Come on now.
I was out there in 2006 when oil rigs everywhere were shuttered rusting and rotting.

Don't shake your head. Either post a link with evidence of "Energy Companies threatening to shut down U.S. production" or admit you are making shit up.
He figures out a way still.I see McOwned is worrying about what may happen as usual, specially with the gas prices being so low he can't cry about them.
I made the font as big as it can go.

Most companies with strong balance sheets will continue to drill through the downturn as long as prices don't fall below $80, Scott Sheffield, chairman and CEO of Pioneer Natural Resources Co., said at a forum in Washington yesterday.
Below $70, "you will see a significant curtailment," he said. "You'll see job loss, rig loss, job loss extending into service companies."
So 2 things. First, you never answered my questions.
Also, why is it that if gas falls below $70 you will see less drilling by some companies?
Come on now.

They will shut them down again as history always repeats itself.
Where, exactly, were these rigs being 'shuttered', rusting and rotting?
Rig counts in Colorado in June, 2012 are back to levels experienced during the run up in 2005 and 2006.
Are you just a person that is seeking attention, even if it is negative?
