You see, part of the essential problem with Dave is that, living in the ghetto and not wanting to broadcast this by buying gas in the ghetto neighborhood, he drives to an "upscale" area where his ghetto-ness won't be noticed (or so he deludes himself into thinking that). So he pays more to put up appearances that are above and beyond his station in life.
That and he refuses to join Costco, something which would, given Costco's price differential between them and "normal" gas stations, pay back the membership cost within 6 months, giving 6 months of pure "profit". But, no, Dave sees no advantage to that. He'd rather pay.
Damn, wish there was a Costco anywhere near where I live.....but driving over an hour to get to the closest one just isn't cost effective. Dammit.
