Thanks for the great response! My 'OCD' side of me still wants everything (and a little mad I didn't realize it in the first place because I'm sure they will eventually release a 'complete pack') but I'll play the game through before buying anything else.

Off topic I know, but since you clearly know the game well, what are your favorite classes?

I guess my overall favorite class is the Gunzerker. I also finished the game with the Assassin, Commando and Psycho and they were all fun as well. One of these days I need to go back and finish my Mechromancer and try playing the Siren. At some point I had to move on though!

As Tifosi mentioned above the Commando is probably the best class to start with simply because you have built in support from your turret. The same can be said for the Mechromancer and her robot. After you get the hang of the game mechanics all of the characters are playable and winnable single player.

As someone that's used to playing old FPS games like Quake, the Mechromancer is the most fun to play with the Anarchy skill. However, I find that you really need a fine balance with it, or else you'll find that too many stacks means you can't hit the broad side of a barn! You also have to be wary that you don't put too many points into the shield restoration talent, or it will sap 5% of your health regardless of how much shields it restores -- even 1 point of damage to your shield = -5% health!!

For example, here's an old video where I run through Lynchwood just killing everything: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sqK1mBR-LHQ . Just ignore the part where I almost die! ...and if you're wondering why I keep switching weapons at the end, then that's because I wanted to blow something up with the rocket launcher, but I didn't want to wait for the reload.

I'm thinking of getting this too.......my cousin's are visiting me this summer.....I'm guessing (like the consoles) this can be played on one PC monitor while supporting 2 X-Box controllers?

Yes, in fact Mortal Kombat pretty much only works well local.
The online version is totally broke and tons of people complain about it on Steam. I dont mind, SP is good by me.

Actually you can do 4 players at once, with the Tag Team option. Its pretty fun.

That is what makes skyrim so great, you can change that if you want with mods. You want new armor? mods Want real looking flowing water? Mods What more vampire bases spells? Mods.

Simply dismissing a game based on graphics you see, or problems YOU are having with computer is dumb.
Yep. Bethesda rules at mod support, which is like buying one game and getting two or three more free.

It will almost definitely make the rounds. And both it and New Vegas are easily worth the $7-$10 they will cost.
Yup. With tons of good quality mods available, there is easily several hundred hours of game play in each.

Only thing I really want is a deal on Wolfenstein, yet I bought two more cheap games even though my unplayed Steam library is nearing fifty games. Evidently Gabe sent someone to sneak into my house and beat me with a stupid stick as I lay sleeping . . .

Thanks Shorty.......do you know if the game can be visually reduced for the "graphic mature content"? (for the 11-15 yr olds who will also be there)

Insurgency is great. It's a perfect mix between Counter Strike and Red Orchestra. Very slow, tactical, and methodic. Great map design. Very polished. A little bit of loadout customization, but not much, and none of that XP/unlock/progression nonsense.

Not that I saw in the options.
Basic fighting has tons of blood and bone crunching. If either character gets badly whupped they have alternate skins with lots of blood and bone and meat protruding. All the fatalities are super bloody. Almost all the combos and special attacks are super bloody.

In fact the video sequences in between rounds are fairly gory.
Also the Krypt where you unlock art and music has a long bloody gory animation just to get the item.

Oh, and all the females have outfits that would get them arrested anywhere in the real world.

The Mortal Kombat Arcade Edition on Steam has options disable blood and gore.
Seems pointless and odd though. I can understand for countries that regulate that stuff down having support for bloodless and goreless and then just swapping the actual install routine or launcher for that version in censored locations. I just have to question anyone that would voluntarily disable it. Whether it's for their kids or themselves.

Anyone play Kingdoms of Amalur? Looks interesting but I don't know anyone that has played it. Reviews generally seem positive.

Little curious where the money goes when you buy it.

It goes directly to Curt Schilling so that he can maintain his realistic blood-on-white-socks collection

What this guy said. Its an excellent game, I've been playing it since alpha and its definitely a fast paced game with realistic elements.

Ugh, nothing I vote for wins the Community Choice, and I bet Adventure - Comedy will win the next one. That's funny because The LEGO Movie Video Game is currently on sale for $7.49, and the Community Choice will actually bump it up slightly to $7.50.

So has anybody played gone home? It's on flash for 2.99. I'm kind of intrigued by it.
