Chevy Blazer 1980s, 2 doors, good approach angles, high clearance, solid rear axle, Semi-hardcore off roader.

Chevry Blazer 2019; 4 door softroader

This will appeal to todays mass market, but, not to the original niche market the Blazer filled in the olden times.

On the plus side, at least the old Ford Bronco hasn't been bastardized....

....yet.

I've driven a Blue 4 door Chevy blazer since 1987. the lastest is my 2003. I agree.

I think it looks great and if I saw it on the street i would think Jap crossover.

As a Blazer I do not like it. The old Blazers were cool.

I'd rather own a Ford though.

Considering how long the original style Blazer hasn't been around, I find it kinda weird for people to be harping on being disappointed that its not that (its been almost what 30 years since they made that style?).

This looks decent, but yeah looks like so many other crossovers now. I don't mind the D-pillar styling if done right, but here it looks overwrought and overstyled, and a lot of those are turning out like the blacked out A-pillar ones where its just paint and ends up looking cheap and poor up close. Front end looks Camaro-esque, which works surprisingly well. Maybe we'll get a 2-door Typhoon-esque performance one. I'd like to see 2 versions a production one with a turbo 4 making 300-400hp and then a concept one with the LT5 or LT6 mid-mounted. Actually there's a 3rd option that would be interesting, a hybrid, integrate the Bolt's motor into the rear drivetrain, with the turbo 4 and AWD (for the concept have the back seats be rear or maybe even longitudinal with the back on the passenger side, so that the rear seats are more accessible where you could get in through the rear hatch).

Woof.

The red & black do a good job of hiding the design, but the lighter colors really bring out the chonk. The tiny side windows are really highlighted in this picture. They should have cut off the bottom of the car where the side silver trim piece is, they could have had an Evoque competitor on their hands.

Some photoshop (coughMSpaintcough) magic:

My father had an S10 Blazer. It was very much a piece of junk. Plastic everything falling apart in the interior.

Not a bad idea. Ford does this with the Explorer. For this black/white color scheme I'd suggest applying a metallic accent color along the bottom edges - copper, bronze, or brass.

According to GM Family First, the price ranges from the plain jane model $28,800 to the top of the line fully loaded at $56,361

All i've ever owned since 1985 is a Chevy 4wd Blazer, Blue(2). Its suits my needs. Had some problems with the first one but the 2003 one I have now has been fine except for those @WS&^&! oxygen sensors.

No way, the black plastic everybody uses to hide the slabs always looks awful. I wish all the manufacturers would get rid of it. And the plastic trim around the wheel wells too.

At least the bottom black trim hides the chonkiness:

Because otherwise the bloat really stands out:

It makes sense that they'd make the smaller SUV in the bunch into more of a crossover, but I'm not sold on the looks. Kinda just looks like a less sleek Murano or Lexus RX

Maybe it will look better in police uniform? 'Cos you know that's happening...

I'll take the bloat over the black plastic. And this goes for every manufacturer. Even BMW's have it on their crossovers. It cheapens the design, IMO.

If it has two separate lift blocks one down and one up forget about it!

Mazda called, they want their CX5 back.

When I think of the Chevy Blazer I think of the full-size truck body 2 door of the 1970s, not the piece of shit they made in the late 90s on the S-10 chassis. This looks more like the latter.

I had an '80s Blazer (really GMC Jimmy, same thing) and did offroad it, have no desire whatsoever to go back that far into GM's past. SUVs like everything else, got better in successive generations before they turned into unibody CUVs.
