even AT members getting hit with the fake news now.

double check and verify folks.

People shouldn't come here for "news", people should come here to discuss the best motherboards, or the best hard drives, or the best operating systems, just as most of us originally discovered the site. How we sidetracked into solving the problems of the world is beyond me but in all fairness I was distracted too. And still am. So, how are your gigabytes doing today?

Talking of 'fake coup news', apparently the Dutch authorities are saying the purported hack of Trump's twitter account really did happen.

Boy, the havoc that could be wrought if someone with malevolent intent did that now (the Chinese or the Russians, for example).

Someone could probably make some money out of the effect on the financial markets at the very least.

"Fraudulent EC vote cannot be allowed to stand" "I hereby order Federal authorities to arrest the criminal Democrat leadership" "I won the election" "I'm the Pwedisident, I am, I am, I am" "They cheated - tell them daddy!"

If they must allow a President to Tweet, surely the security side of it should be nailed down tight and not left to a non-tech-savvy boomer (or older) President to pick their own password?

The disgraced and pardoned Michael Flynn is openly saying Trump should declare martial law and redo the elections in certain states. These people are pure evil.

Not at all concerned about Trump anymore. We've come too far now and Mitch McConnell is more worried with keeping the senate than with keeping Donald Trump. After all... they got themselves three SCOTUS justices out of Trump and that's surely more than they ever expected. I mean, now don't get too greedy Mitch. Fox news has moved on and is now consumed with Hunter Biden despite that being a big nothing burger, but if it makes Fox and little Lindsey happy and distracted from their Trump loss, then great. Fox needed a new hobby and Hunter will fit right in with their other time consuming yet profitless hobbies i.e. Benghazi, Hillary servers, Hillary emails, Obama birth certificates, voter fraud, and now Hunter Biden. Trust me, four years will pass with multiple investigations of Hunter and none of it will amount to a hill of Russian beans.

Donald Trump is not ever again going to be president other than inside his little mind. His supporters will draw up a four-year calendar marking off the days one by one up to 2024, and all the while Joe Biden is the president. I "would" call Joe president elect but at this point I do believe Joe Biden is providing America more leadership than is Donald Trump. In fact, Joe Biden is providing nearly all of the leadership. And eventually, we will hear the name of Donald Trump no more, and we might even forget how to spell it and not remember what his middle name ever was. Usually, dictator wannabes go out in a violent manner... suicide, self inflected wounds, asylum in other countries, humiliation and ridicule, and sometimes they just fizzle away. It looks like Donald Trump is the fizzle away kind of loser. What a world... What a world... What a world...

There was a time around the Nixon era when republicans, the top 1% wealthy republicans were claiming that the general population were not "smart enough" to vote or to understand government and the economy and business and how they are related, thus the common guy should not be allowed to have any say in such decisions. Only the rich and powerful should be allowed to decide our leaders and our policies. THAT was back then and no doubt still their perception.

It was very popular in the 70s and early 80s with the new Goldwater cult members (later Regan Revolutionists) to claim that only property owners should be allowed to vote.

To be honest, I've gotten the same vibe from American Clinton-supporting liberal technocrats of my acquaintance. Only I think if they had their way, it wouldn't be based on property-ownership but on academic qualifications. In the liberal technocrat world you only get to vote if you have a post-college qualification.

Come to think of it, maybe that split is not purely a US thing? Someone pointed out to me how the Guardian finds it hard to write about anyone in the news without mentioning they are 'Oxford/Cambridge-educated' (e.g. in a recent article about the possibly-criminal activities of Ghislaine Maxwell, they had to get that descriptor in there). Whereas the lower-middle-class-targetted Daily Mail is infamous for pretty much never writing about any celeb without telling us how much their house is worth.

This is confusing to those of us who want both a big house _and_ a PhD! (and failed to achieve either)

Since this appears to be fake, I am curious what your source was? Understanding where these hoaxes come from is really important.

My source was the Floridian as mentioned by SMOGZINN upthread. It's a right wing rag I occasionally visit to see what crap they are feeding the base down here. I should have known not to post the BS there with out it being reported elsewhere. My bad!.

I'm assuming Trump will be down here where he will continue to have his shadow presidency. Maybe that’s the game going forward: he continues to call himself president and his followers continue to regard him as the real president. And the Oval Office will no longer really matter to the Delusional States of America because it will simply be illegally occupied by a fraudulent president who is being supported by the Deep State. The rest will be taken up with advertising for Trump flags and Trump shirts and Trump swag, at first. Then, as Trump develops more and more endeavors to fleece his fans, we’ll get long infomercials for the rebooted Trump University. Then there will be really long infomercials for homes in the new Trump branded housing subdivisions - Trump Village!, where a half million dollars will get you a $250,000 home in a neighborhood of like-minded people willing to overpay in order to live among other people that think Trump is still President.

Well, the crazies were just in the oval office arguing for martial law:
It doesn't get much more serious than this before troops are in the streets

As I see it, these people understand, that given even and fair conditions, they will lose all power. They cant see a way to reform the party in time for them to make a come back, at least not in their political life time.... So fuck democracy. Really. They want to undo it.

Wait a minute... Flynn was actually IN the meeting???

"One person described the meeting as "ugly" as Powell and Flynn accused others of abandoning the President as he works to overturn the results of the election. "

So he pardons Flynn for colluding with Russia(and lying to the feds about it) .... So he can get right back working on sedition for him?
Did I get that right?
Are you crazy?

One pardon for sedition coming up within a month?

Can we stop with the "Trumpanzees" crap? Dehumanising your opponents is a classic extremist tactic, meant to make it easier to attack and discredit your opponents, or to justify awful abuse against them.

I'd much rather see the Left take Trump supporters seriously, and demolish their bullshit with facts.

Fuck yo’feelz

Now the serious part. You can’t rational discussions with these folks. See Speedy & LK. Totally impossible. The are bad winners and sore losers.
Debate, standards, norms and compromise is impossible.
I think the bullies need to be bullied. They will respond to that, sort of how the bully responds when he gets punched in the face. The punch to his face resets the relationship.

I don’t believe the military higher ups would allow Marshall law to happen.

Maybe so, but the article suggests that Trump is at least considering it.

Don't worry. Certain posters will be along to tell us that this is all just politics as usual, that both sides are the same, and that everything will be just fine when Trump leaves office.

this is one of the pitfall of liberals. they think that if you just give conservatives the facts they'll suddenly see the light and abandon conservatism. they can't wrap their heads around the fact that there are people who just are conservative.
