Profiles in courage if you could only go back in time.

She's actually a somewhat interesting person, more so than a lot of her colleagues. The policy wants of Alaska kind of defy basic partisanship and they just passed ranked choice voting which will give her a considerable advantage against any R challenger. Also Alaska is highly dependent on federal cash and with a president coming into office who's looking to spend flopping independent and making deals she otherwise would not as an R is the order of the day.

Looking like this is heating up. Top Civilian leadership at the Pentagon has been thrown out and replaced with Trump sycophants. Top Republicans refuse to call Biden President-Elect. Biden's team is not being given access to traditional transition protocols. White House staffers are being warned if they are caught looking for another job they will be fired. White House is still vetting appointees as if business is usual and putting together the next budget. Georgia's GOP congressional delegation is writing letters to Georgia's Secretary of State to basically invalidate the election. And more. Anybody want to take bets?

If they do go through with a coup what will the actual military leadership do?

Looks like this may have been done with the specific idea of hampering any response to armed insurrection in Trump's name

Pentagon placed limits on D.C. Guard ahead of pro-Trump protests due to narrow mission

if any republican politician says this was unforeseeable:
Retired Army Lt. Col. Ralph Peters talks to CNN's Anderson Cooper about the future of the United States if President Donald Trump loses in 2020 [april 25 2019]

Now the serious part. You can’t rational discussions with these folks. See Speedy & LK. Totally impossible. The are bad winners and sore losers.
Debate, standards, norms and compromise is impossible.
I think the bullies need to be bullied. They will respond to that, sort of how the bully responds when he gets punched in the face. The punch to his face resets the relationship.

Nope, I stand by what I said

Please be specific. Link or at least explain the "new info."

Anyone who thinks there wasn't a (really lame and pathetic) coup attempt made on Jan 6 isn't going to be swayed by any new information. There's way, way more than enough information available, but since it speaks unfavorably toward one team those fans won't hear it.

What's 'amusing' is that Trump's coup attempt was, as with virtually everything he does, more a product of his combination of mental illness and ignorance than any kind of elaborate, sinister plot.

You can practically imagine his thought process. He believes he always wins everything, therefore he can't have lost the election; there's a formalization process for the election at the Capitol, so maybe he can 'fix' it by sending people over to make Congress change its mind. I don't think he even grasps the concept that the ends don't always justify the means... in his mind, anyone who wants to further his goals is always good, no matter how they want to go about doing it.

I'm thinking that, more than anything, will define Trump's long-term legacy — the US voted for its first truly sociopathic President, and suffered the consequences even after he left office.

Yes, I’m not even sure if he would recognize or understand the idea that people can or should do things for reasons other than their own self interest. I genuinely think when he sees people doing that he assumes they are lying about their motivations like he is. His brain is just that broken.

I’m just curious how the Trump apologists can continue to spin this. I know they will, because they have to, but curious how they think they can make a convincing argument for anyone other than themselves.

From the article,
"Mr. Rosen quickly scheduled interviews with congressional investigators to get as much of his version of events on the record before any players could ask the courts to block the proceedings "
Seems like he was concerned that members of congress like Jim Jordan or Mo Brooks would try and stop him from telling his story of just how badly trump was trying to overthrow our constitution.
