There are too many insatiable demands coming from the left. Biden is forgiving student debt at a fast clip, moreso than anyone could possibly imagine could happen, and there is no coverage on this. This was something Bernie was F&*(&(ing campaigning on.Young Turks and other left loons are still saying he isn't doing enough. Tell that to the people who are benefitting from this NOW!
Now comes the Gaza thing. I agree he needs to do more and fast but at the end of the day he does not control israel, US foreign policy does not do abrupt 180's and can only veer as fast as a huge, lumbering ship. this is something most of these people complaining don't understand. I get being frustrated, but to call him a genocider, is a little bit excessive
Yeah ... Presidents do not have a monopoly over how we conduct foreign policy. Pro-Palestine voters need to push House and Senate candidates to take a stand and vote for those whose positions they agree with.
If you are a Pro-Palestine person - there is no other choice than to vote Biden. What is Biden supposed to do? He cant call back the IDF or anything. He cant withhold aid, that is Congress. Could he have vetoed that aid bill? And left Ukraine in the lurch? Iran is clearly the enemy of the US and Democracy. Netanyahu isn’t complaining about the student protests in the US because he doesn't give a shit what university students think. But if he can sell the narrative that there is a massive wave of antisemitism that Biden is allowing to happen ....
The GOP and Trump are sworn and deadly foes to the Pal. cause … At least Biden is putting pressure on Netanyahu, which seems to be having some effect. So, to continue the silly shit sandwich analogy about Biden that I've been hearing... Biden is giving you a bread sandwich- no meat, nothing else, but at least it is SOMETHING. Herr Trump would give you pure shit - and no bread. No one is going to give you a delicious halal sandwich. Its either bread or shit. Handing the election to Trump would be the worst possible thing pro-Palestinian people could do for that cause.
The best bet for pro-Palestinian people is to hope that this war is over long before November and everyone has largely forgotten about it. Because if Trump ends up voted back in, you get genocide. Not like the current situation which generates a lot of discussion about whether it is a genocide or whether it just looks a lot like one. No, under Trump you get full-on genocide as in no more Palestinian state and possibly no more Palestinians at all. In voting for Trump, you get an insane person who hates Muslims and is fascinated by nuclear weapons and wants to use one in the worst way. When Trump says he’ll end the conflict in 24 hours, I'd bet he isn’t talking about his negotiating skills.
Trump getting back into office means that every layer of accountability in the US has been defeated and this childish, selfish, insane man will have been handed unlimited power at zero possible consequence to him for any of his actions past, present or future. Bearing this in mind, I expect that in this scenario, pro-Palestinian American voters in the US will be considered to fall into the same “vermin” category as Palestinians, Democrats, people of color. the LGBT community, RINOs, Jewish-Americans who don’t show Trump sufficient loyalty and journalists who don’t print pro-Trump headlines etc. etc. - blah blah blah
Biden has been pressuring Bibi, abstaining from some UN votes, etc. While Trump recognized Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.
The choice is clear – if you have any sympathy for the Palestinians at all, vote Biden. If you side with liberal Israelis that think that Bibi may be going too far, vote Biden. If you like American democracy, vote Biden. Protest votes during the primary are fine, but when it comes to the general election, pro-Palestine voters should be first in line, doing whatever they can to get out the Biden vote.
