Does anyone else notice that you almost never see these types of dooming articles about Republicans? Like when Trump went all-in on backing Israel or, say, tried to ban Muslims from entering the US you never saw a 'Trump is doomed because Arab and Muslim voters will flood the polls to defeat him!'

Articles like this exist because they get clicks as:

1) Conservatives like to read news that tells them what they want to hear.
2) Liberals are neurotic and love to worry about things.
3) Conservatives are a much more homogeneous group (old white guys with a long-standing sense of entitlement, residing mostly in small towns and rural areas). Liberals have to hold together a much more diverse coalition that don't always have interests that perfectly align. Plus the electoral system favours the former.

I’m pretty sure it’s nearly 100% clicks based.

I would bet money that those articles perform better so that’s what they publish. It’s why the New York Times is always like ‘unemployment is at historic lows, here’s why that’s bad news for Joe Biden’.

Similar concerns over here

Though, maybe it's significant that the first few articles I found highlighting the issue were in the (Tory supporting) Spectator.

It clearly did cost Labour some seats in the local elections.

Muslim Labour voters are an unusual mix. They are only rarely liberal or secular progressives in the Green or Corbynite sense. Many are socially conservative on women’s rights and sexual orientation. Yet they are highly exercised by foreign policy issues with which they identify. In that sense, they echo something of Britain’s 20th-century Irish Catholic voters, who simultaneously formed the bedrock of repeated anti-abortion campaigns while also remaining committed to Labour as a friend of Ireland.

Is there any similar parallel between Musims and Catholic voters in the US in the past?

Sort of. In the democratic coalition the white people tend to be the most liberal across the board while minority voters are more socially conservative. I think their social conservatism is compensated for somewhat by republicans’ explicit, virulent racism.

Even if you agree with republicans that trans people are icky if you’re black it’s hard to vote for the guys hanging out with the KKK, basically.

Got it.
NYT is no longer news. It is a tabloid pretending to have journalism.

Makes me wonder how many have fallen, or rather... how many journalism establishments (news rooms) still live.

China's trade with Russia in the first four months of 2024 was $76.5 billion, 96 percent more than what it was in the same period in 2021.China's trade with the world grew only 9 percent.

Has anyone ever thought that Trump really appeals to the crazies and for young people to stop thinking logically and start acting crazy?

It's not so much a weakness of dems, but it's an open rebellion against the rule of law.

My 8 yard daughter fell down walking on the sidewalk today. 15 minutes latter she did a hand stand on a balance beam. Fuck off. People of all ages fall down, the difference is most people don't have cameras on them 24/7.

I slipped on ice while trying to salt my driveway last year.

Clear as day the troll doesn't live in our climate zone.

What is Biden doing? He just looks!

Stupid Biden at least should have chosen an experienced vice president and a strong team.
