But what do they mean by "With SLI we see scene shimmering..."?
The 60fps target has become an absolute necessity for me, as it appears that I've reached a new plateau of hypersensitivity to framerate fluctuations below monitor refresh rate (http://forums.anandtech.com/showthread.php?t=2315316). My only strategy is to meet that target at all costs. The only way to do this is with multiple GPUs. I suspect it'll backfire on me though, the hypersensitivity will undoubtedly apply to AFR microstutter too. :|
Why are you getting K series processors?I don't OC.
But what were your cores at? If you were seeing 100% or close to it, then sure. But it could conceivably be another bottleneck, like memory bandwidth.Whether or not I'm CPU bound varies not only by game, but by areas within a given game. You can't say "Skyrim is GPU bound" or "Crysis is CPU bound" - they be either from map to map. In Skyrim I maintain 60fps for the vast majority of the game, but there are still a few trouble areas, some CPU bound and some GPU bound. Here is one clearly CPU bound area:
That's the kind of anomaly I'd expect to clear up with the 4770k.
Where do you get that idea from. They're using a GTX 670. They wouldn't be stupid enough to use the CPU for the CPU testing. Those aren't the IGP benchmarks.
That's not even my link. I linked the HC review and:
