"Republicans put back in charge!" Until they piss off the voters, and it's back to the democrats......till they piss off the voters, then it's back to the republicans.

what's the definition of insanity again?

Lol, yet again, when reality conflicts with what werepossum wants to believe it must be a conspiracy by others to trick you.

Same deal for you as for DSF. I welcome a single plan for revenue neutral tax reform that actually says how it will achieve this revenue neutrality. Whenever you see one you let me know. (The failure of one to arrive will inevitably be the result of some progressive conspiracy, I'm sure)
Jhhnn called - he wants his (lack of) reading comprehension back.

There is absolutely no chance that anyone could produce a Republican proposal you'd accept as serious because your definition of serious is aligned with your own druthers. Everyone knows this - because you never, ever deviate from it. If you choose to pretend this knowledge is somehow belief in a conspiracy, that's certainly no skin off my nose.

are the next 2 years going to be the worst fracking thing ever politically, since the president can't do jack and the house/congress will be threatened with veto on everything?

I don't think he is asking for much when he requests a plan that explains how they are able to bend the rules of math.

worst case scenario, I don't see how it'll be any worst than the past 2 years.

but people may have learned from Reid's mistake, hopefully... because he blocked any contentious bill from ever seeing the Senate floor, no Democratic candidates had a chance to vote against them and separate themselves from Obama (which allowed Republicans to flood the airwaves with "So and so voted with Obama 99% of the time!!!" ads, and nevermind the fact that 99/100 of those votes were on routine stuff like confirmations/appointments)

^This. Reid was such a fucking tool. I don't see much changing now the Repubs have all of Congress. Hopefully just gridlock.

!

Today I learned that requesting that people actually show how their "revenue neutral" tax proposal is revenue neutral is far too much to ask and will send werepossum into one of his characteristic rages.

As always, it's everyone but yourself that's the problem. We are all filled with partisan hackery, nefarious motives, and who knows what else. It couldn't possibly be that you're just not terribly bright, form strong opinions about things you don't understand, and are too proud to admit as much.

Now that I think about it, that's pretty much exactly it.

Given the the people blamed the Democrats (right or wrong) with the overall situation for the past 2 years; the Republicans will need to put forth reasonable (not radical) solutions/bills that push their agenda without seeming to be radical.

While they have a majority; they should not try to silence the minority and/or pull a Reid by refusing anything to be looked at that did not meet his ideals.

They have two years to show that they will be different than the Democrats that they replaced. Also that if they can demonstrate that they are more inline with the people and that the blockage of progress is the WH, there will be less baggage for 2016.

The Democrats demonstrated that Obama was considered to be a liability (Gore and Clinton) during the campaign as a get out the vote personality.

Will Obama allow himself to be an drogue line to his party by his actions against Congress (who supposedly are representing the people's wishes).

His first statements on the election indicate that he refuses to acknowledge the writing on the wall.

Well the Dems care about their supporters.

You know, I often struggle with the whole war on drugs thing and move towards the libertarian position of just making it all legal. And just when I'm about there, I see posts like yours and if drugs really are so dangerous that it's worth the BS we go through to keep them illegal.

I weep when I think of the damaged minds of the children.

this seems relevent...

GOP crafts narrow agenda for new Congress, seeking unity, Democratic votes

With the 2016 presidential campaign already looming large, McConnell (Ky.) and Boehner (Ohio) are both eager to shed the party’s image as an unruly collection of obstructionists and far-right ideologues.

The remedy, they have decided: Act quickly to send President Obama bills with bipartisan support to fast-track international trade agreements, repeal an unpopular tax on medical devices and approve the Keystone XL pipeline...

However, GOP leaders are discussing more limited efforts to undermine the [ACA], such as watering down the requirement that employers offer full-time workers coverage, which takes effect in January. The administration has already delayed portions of that mandate.

Republicans could also try to change the definition of a full-time worker from someone who works 30 hours a week to 40 hours a week, another proposal likely to draw substantial Democratic support.

This.

We need multipolar political parties in America just like we need multipolar geopolitics in the world right now.

Yep the 6 year DJIA market run is circling the drain. I wonder if the Republicans can destroy the market before the next election cylcle.

Again you mistake mocking for rage. You seriously need to work on that in group.

Yeah . . . I'll believe that when I see it.

Dude, you''re a hard core lefty. You should be demanding the destruction of the market; that's money the evil rich make off the workers' sweat. That money should have all been paid out in wages.

Man, it's like you aren't even down with the struggle at all.

I was speaking specifically of his drug-induced hallucination that the dems actually care about their constituents. And I was (mostly) being sarcastic.

Like many on here, I think our 2 party system is fundamentally broken. bunnyfubbles stated what many have, with which you agreed. Count me in.

.... which were entirely due to Obama and the democrats. That is a painful truth. I fear for the retirement accounts of all Americans now that the lunatics are going to run the asylum.
