2nd Harddrive

My friend just gave me a 80gb harddrive he gave to me formatted. I want to add in the 80gb to my computer.So what do i have to do?

How many other drives do you have hooked up right now? If you only have 1 HD and 1 CD rom currently just set the jumper on the 80 gig to "slave" and hook it up. I'd attach it to the same cable as your other hard drive. Be sure to check the jumper settings on your main HD and make sure it is set to "Master" and not "Cable Select." (Or set both HD's to cable select, whatever turns you on)

i have 2cd drives and one hardrive and a floppy

You can do it just fine. Just hook the second port of your IDE cable (the one that is going to your first HD) to the back of the second drive. Make sure the jumper settings on the second one are for "SLave" and the first one is "MAster"
The outside case of the drive has this information where the jumpers are in the back - just look for it. If you can't make it out, search Google.

also beware that some older motherboards have problem detecting larger hard drives.
