3 Dimm Dual Channel

I have an nforce 2 board with 2 identical 256MB Kingston modules. They are working in Dual Channel right now. I just ordered the same model Kingston memory module (only 512 not 256) to install in this pc. Will dual channel still work or does that only work in pairs?

If I recall, you can only populate 2 of 3 slots for Dual Channel mode. Not sure it will make much of a difference in speed going to single channel anyway. Maybe 2-3% slower? I would take that hit for an additional 512MB anyday.

Cool, thanks guys. Yes, I suppose Doom 3 would rather me have a gig of ram than 512mb dual channel.
