30GB ATA100 for $99

I got an email from pcliquidator.com this morning that they are moving the maxtor 30GB ata100 drives for only $99

I ordered a couple to upgrade my old 10gb systems.

They dont have it linked from thier website. It is supposed to be aimed at the people only on thier mailing lists

only 5400 rpm, so the Anandforums hardware junkies will chime in with some disdain. Chances are it's an OEM bare drive, so this is only warm. Like you said, a good replacement drive for older systems.

I got my drive - NOT OEM!

It is pretty darn cool!

I had to DL the ATA100 update, but after that my machine went faster than it ever has!

Office depot's best deal is a 20 Gb 7200 Rpm Maxtor for $99. Second best is the western digital 20 Gb 7200 for $120.

I went there once this week and bought the maxtor. Got it home and it doesn't work. Doesn't spin, don't do nothing. Just DOA. So, I take it back. I am told to go check out the hard drives and I was going to do that anyway so I go and check out what they have. Have a conversation with superfly(read:walking stereotype fast talking &quot;pimp&quot; who almost knew nothing about computers but acted like he did anyway), went to the front desk after seeing such crappy deals, and was then told that there policy was to only allow exchange. I argued for a second, they went to the manager, she said, &quot;Yes, that is out policy but we will issue a refund.&quot; Well I shot them down good on their point with the policy and told them to gimme my money. There policy, btw, says you can get a refund for 14 days on ANY technology item if you have the receipt and the original packaging, which I had... anyways this has nothing to do with the pcliquidator deal, but just wana say, office depot=suck

i think the staples deal is better, averaging $55 for the 20gb drive after rebates.
works out to $110 for 40gbs of space, shipping included, plus 2 hdd controller cards!
