ALBATRON GeForce 128MB FX5200EP

It's a brand new install of XP SP1a with DX 9.0a and the 52.16 drivers. I verified that AA, and AF were off.

Why is it so slow. I have an AXP 1600 with a ti 4400 that scores 9700-9900 depending on settings. Thanks in advance.

I assume you mean it's the Graphics card, but c'mon a 5200 ultra and a Barton 2800 shouldn't be scoring less than haf what my other machine does. I also have a t-bird 900 with a GF3 ti-200 that scorec over 5000.

my XP2500+ and 9700 pro scored 15,200 at default speeds.

Check it against other 5200s on the FutureMark ResultBrowser. If you read the forums, you'd see everyone badmouthing the 5200 (and for good reason). Do better research next time if you want high benchmark scores.

PUT THE TI4400 IN THERE! It will fly - probably 12,000 3dmarks and it will run games much faster.

ok... this card you have got is basically a 128MB GF4 MX with half a$$ed hardware DX9 support. what ever made you go for this card is beyond me. ran outta cash when it came to the vid card? if u had the ultra version you'd prolly see 7000 - 8000 on 3Dmark 01 but that's rather sad considering the CPU. FX5200 sucks, it is NOT the successor to the Ti4200.

The new machine is for my wife. It's not really going to be used to much for gaming. That's why I went for the 5200. I figured it would be ok or at least better than the T-Bird 900/ti200 she was using. She likes to play UT ccassionally. I knew the 5200 wan't a great card, but I didn't think it was worse than 2 generations ago. I guess I can put the ti200 in there.

Your score is quite low, my plain 5200 scores 4000 but with faster processor. In fact if I diisable hardware tnl I still get 3000!

The 5200EP has a 64bit memory bus. That?s why it?s sooo ? slow.
