I scored a whopping 812. My system specs are listed below, but is it safe to say the lowliness of that score can be attributed to my video card? It seems awfully low...


AMD Barton 2500+, 1.3V, stock FSB (1.83GHz)
Abit NF7-S v2
Generic 1GB PC3200
MSI GeForce3 Ti200
Samsung SP1614C 160/8/SATA HDD

I'm using onboard soundstorm audio instead of my Chaintech ENVY powered card too, if that matters much.

Yup.
3DMark03 is a video card benchmark, plain and simple.
If you had a DX9 card (almost any kind) the score would probably be more like 2k to 13k.
Even with an FX5200 (which is probably slower in games than your GF3 Ti200, or not much faster).

It's a worthless benchmark for a non-DX9 card.

Damn it.

I was expecting something respectable since Far Cry runs fine on this rig. (Albeit at 800x600)

I should add that the Ti200 is a 64MB card =/

Benchmarks mean nothing (especially 3D Mark03) really, especially when you don't have the harware to support the features the benchmark is aimed at (DX9).
But that doesn't lessen its game playing ability.
Your card can't run some of the tests, so cannot get a good score.

Agreed with the posts in here. 3DMark03 is a graphics and cpu intensive test. My original benches with my TI4600 Gainward 128Mb card was 1774 (everything stock). I upgraded to the ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 128Mb card and whammo... I scored just under 7000 ! Same machine, just the video card change.

If you want more of a overall test of your rig (drives, memory, cpu graphics) use the older test 3DMark2001.
