You can use the onboard MSI Neo4 Platinum RAID 5 and not have to buy a RAID card, but it'll take up a bit of CPU usage, clogs up your PCI bus, and won't be as fast as with a controller card.

based on your needs go with raid 5. Cheaper and more storage. If you lose one drive all your data is still their and everything still works.
