4870 x2 low performance

Seems there is a problem somewhere. I just got a new 4870 x2 to replace my 8800gt, uninstalled nvidia drivers. Installed new card and latest drivers from ati. Ran vantage and scored just over 10,000.

I've noticed similar setups are scoring around 13k+


Any ideas? Anyone have similar troubles?



Specs are

Q6600@ 3.0ghz
4gigs ram 800mhz ocz
Abit IP35 Pro
750 Game Xstream ocz power supply, 2x3 pin and 2x4 connected to 4870 x2
vista 64bit

Overclock the Q6600 to the 3.5GHz-3.6Ghz range and mildly overclock your 4870 X2 and you'll notice a significant increase in your scores.
