I just got around to trying my Ding King out. I have a huge soup dent on my winter beater and I thought that I'd use it as a test mule. I spent damn near 4 hours today with this thing. I did get some of the dent out, but I'm still working on it. I must've repeated it about 40 times today. The problem is that the glue doesn't stick as well to the body panel as I would like and ends up pulling off prematurely. I feel like just pulling the door panel at times and knocking the rest of the dent out with a hammer or something.

I guess it was worth $15 and 4 hours of my time.

Dang Sal, that sucks. However, the body panels on my Sentra are paper thin so I think I am going to try one of these out. Got a couple of big dents to try it on.

I am so sick of Billy Mays (if that is is real name) and his monotone shouting that reverberates like a loud fart throughout the whole house. Man what gives with you Billy? Are you constipated? The products are generally pretty sucky and lame such as that orange cleaner or worst of all that pocket car dent puller. What do you care Billy if these products don't work, you're Billy Mays! On every Open Advertising slot on Dish TV. Most of the products are really just a big lie and a rippoff. The cleasner that is supposed to clear up the blue ink right away is an old Houdini trick which was debunked almost 100 years ago. Though he is hardly up to the task, Billy still allows himself to step into the seedy realm of the infamous snake oil salesman and crooked fast talkers of the oldtime medicine shows. Billy looks even more stiff behind the wheel of a vehicle propped-up and screaming scripted psuedo-praises of yet again another badly engineered, D list, bitch ass product. Get off my TV and get a real job Billy!

Heh.. I know what you mean. You just lean on the fenders the wrong way like the ones that are on a Sentra and they dent. I remember a friend having a Ford Fiesta years ago. I was helping him work on his car and after he was done, he noticed that he had put a huge dent in the front quarter panel just by leaning his knee against the panel while he was working on the engine. BTW.. My dent is on the door of an older 1989 Pontiac Bonneville. It's just a bit thicker than a Sentra's panel.

WTF is a soup dent?

I never really thought too much of the meaning. It's basically a big a*s dent.

it's a 'DING' king, not a DENT king.

For dents get on of the big suction cups at an autoparts store and pull it out....then you can use the ding king to finalize.

I use this on about 6 dings in my car, all but one was 100%, the other one I over pulled and the roller I used wasn't right (it was my first try).

you get a lot of glue, but not a lot of release agent, however, I was told it's only 90% isopropyl alcohol and some fragrance.

The pullers are one oval 1/2" x 1" and one round 1" (roughly).

Say ten times "Ding King" really fast... you'll get what I think the product is...

a normal autobody suction puller works better by far.

Yep Sal, that is exactly it! I accidently went to prop up my arm on the hood of my car for some reason and all of a sudden. POP!! A huge a*s dent in the hood! I was like that guy on the Screen Savers with the radio or whatever it was. I said F#%@ S&*T! That really sucked, I have to get off my butt and go get one today! I had to replace the air filter and PCV on 'da Sentra yesterday.

They say that it will handle dents up to grapefruit size. This was about the size of the dent when I started. There should be no difference between big dents and small ones. It should just take a bit more effort and take a few more times to remove the larger dents. I'm getting there. I had a really big dent when I started and now it's a couple of smaller dents. I could stop now and be happy. It's my winter beater after all. I just wanted to see if I could pull the dent out myself without having someone else do it.

My Neon was caught in a hail storm 3 years ago here in MI. It's like a golf ball now. They say that all those dimples improve aerodynamics so I left mine as it is. BTW the hail stones were the size of golf balls and one smashed right thru my wife's Geo's back window. Nasty storm that one!

Got mine yesterday for $15, going to try it out this afternoon. I will report back.

Hey Sal, did you start on the outer portion of the dent and work your way in? As in, start at 12 o'clock, then 3, 6, 9, and back to 12? Moving in a spiral direction towards the center?

No.. You're probably best off starting smack dab in the middle of the dent. Also, make sure that you clean the surface really well with that green liquid. When you heat up the glue in the glue gun and then apply it to the dent puller attachment, be sure and transfer it right away to the dent on your car. I'd have the glue gun set up out by the car because the glue dries fast. Another little tip is to kind of twist the dent puller on the surface of the car, so all the air bubbles get out of the glue and the glue is spread really well. This sets up a better bond between the dent puller attachment and the car. I'd also be sure to let it dry for at least 5 minutes. I noticed that if you don't let the glue dry enough, it pulls off really easy. The scraper works nice to get the glue gob off and then use more of the green stuff to get what's left. You will probably have to do it at least 10 times to get the dent out depending on the dent size, so plan on doing it more than once.

Good luck. Let me know how it goes?

You bought a "Ding King" Not a Dent King. Sheesh... some people.... I think you'd be better off with a can of bondo. Good Luck!

Hey Sal, back with a report. I got one "ding" fixed on my passenger door that was present when I bought the car about a year ago. It looked as if a shopping cart or someone made a small dent in the panel. It took three pulls but I can no longer tell where it was (seriously, no signs of it whatsoever). I have about ten more to do so I hope all goes well. I am not rushed for time at the moment so I can afford to use the time it takes to fix them. Yeah Sal, I also found out about the air bubbles in the glue so I twisted it slightly to get all of them out. I believe the main thing is to make sure you let it sit for 5 minutes or so before pulling. Found out the glue comes off extremely easy if you use any of those adhesive removers "Goo Gone", "Goof Off", etc.

Well.. Ummm.. It's still considered a ding because it happened when some a*s opened his/her car door on my car door. BTW.. The instructions say that it can handle dents (dings) up to the size of a grapefruit. That's exactly what I had.

That dent is bigger than the one that I had. I got most of it out. I can probably get even more of it out later if I want to keep messing with it. I might even try the heat and dry ice trick once the weather turns hot. It's a black car, so I shouldn't have any problem getting enough heat on the panel.

If I had to do it again or if this was a car that I really cared about, I'd just take the car to a paintless dent repair and have them do it. They never cease to amaze me with their work.
