LOL, I think I've got a 1mb pci card.
We have another pc good enough for the net though.

Gonna go look for it now. I have to get these cards packed and ready to go for the morning.

You should keep a PCI card on hand for times like these.
I would suggest something out of my wares. The 6200 PCI! Great for random PC repair on any PC whether it has AGP/PCIE, or for video card bios flashes gone bad.

I hope ATI makes their Nov. 5 launch date. I hope Nvidia hard launches Nov. 4... oh I can see it now, ATI execs jumping from their office windows. It's gonna be a sad day in Canada.

Just email him at rollo@nvidia.com and ask

From your lips to their ears buddy, but unfortunately I have no ties to nVidia other than an old friend who ended up there and knows how much I love video cards.

I work in the software industry, totally unrelated to gaming.

LOL yeah and I know the specs and MSRP for the Rx2K (580) .. lol

oh ya and Im under NDA too...

HAHA.. sorry but $499.99 MSRP is flat WRONG for 512MB GTX and they most certainly wont be running at 900Mhz DDR (memory 1800effective)..
Oh but again Im under NDA so just forget you saw that ...

edit: just a lil fyi, in the past NV has always added at LEAST a $200 (USD) to the MSRP for their top of the line GPU with double the Vram of the "standard". just look up the MSRP for the 6800Ultra 512 ... in fact walk into your local Best Buy and ask for either the PNY ($899.99) or BFG 6800 Ultra OC 512MB ($999.99) .. those are NV's MSRP. to think (LOL) that people here want to DREAM that the yet to be announced 7800 512MB would have half the MSRP ? Doubtful

I never stated a specific price for the part.

I think you should buy a X1800XT if they make it to market first. I'd like to see you own one, I think you deserve it.

Rollo:

I saw your posts here and the closed thread at the H. Thanks for the heads up. I'm very excited about this release. I have an EVGA 7800GTX that will make the "Step Up Program" up to Nov. 15. I hope the anouncement is on the 7th!!! Again, thanks for the info.

Well considering Euro E-tailers are already taking orders and quoting 1-3day delivery times I think ATI isn't sweating a paper launch, heck the X1800XL was available 2 days after initial launch from Etailers. As far as B&M stores goes, NV wasnt as oh so perfect as you like to think in your dream world,.. BB, CompUSA and other large chains didnt recieve GTXs for 30days after initial launch.. the very same period in which the X1800XL has meet the same retailers.

Then again Im sure you'll be happy with your 749.99 (699.99 with rebate) 512 GTX.. well times 2 becaase of your flawless SLI that makes your wondeful heart pitter patter with the thoughts of Green in your head.

I wonder how many people on this forum have extra ISP's to use to create accounts to troll with like flynn here. FYI flynn, this thread is about the 512MB GTX. If you want to cover your ears and yell "La La La La" go do it somewhere else please.

LOL. Are you implying that his P4 can't handle the 7800GTX?

What are your system specs there Flynn?

Yeah, I just saw that article on theInq. I am surprised if they go with 1.8 GHz on the memory (or anywhere close to that ... 1.6, 1.7, ...). We knew the core could hit that high. So it looks like the 7th is the 6800GS launch and the middle of the month is 7800 GTX 512MB launch.

I AGREE. I HOPE ITS TRUE

Wow if its even close to that it would be amazing... Lately the Inq. has been pretty accurate with its "rumors" atleast for this last round of GPU releases.

Like the 32 pipe R520...... Those numbers make me drool though, The G70 already runs at 550 in the Quadro so the big thing is whether the memory speed is accurate.

Maybe in Europe they got the XL 2 days after launch, but in the States it took a week for places like newegg to get stock at full MSRP. The XT is NOWHERE to be seen yet. As far as the price goes, let's see what comes down before you continue to run your mouth any further.
