I'm not a fanboy... I've owned a ATi Rage 128, 3dfx Voodoo², nvidia GeForce 2 GTS, ATi 9600Pro, and now a nvidia 7800GTX. With that said, all the posts I've seen you make are flamebait... you simply aim to tick nvidia supporters off. If you *only* support ATi, don't spend your time in posts about nvidia... it's that simple. That will make it easy for you not to troll and get yourself involved in these flamewars. Unless, of course, that is what you want to have.

I don't even think it will be faster than 2 7800GTs in SLI. Of course, there will be settings where a 512 GTX will be equal to SLI GTs, but at the highest of resolutions, and using AA and AF, SLI can provide huge benefits.

Just look at BF2. 71 fps for the GTs vs 42fps for GTX. Who here thinks a 512mb GTX is going to be 100% improvement over a 256 GTX and crank out 80fps? Not gonna happen. FEAR is another example. 54fps for SLI GTX. 30 for single GTX. Again, it would need to be 100% faster to hit 60 and beat the SLI.

It sounds like a great card-- don't get me wrong. Probably the first single card solution to come along that actually has me thinking about ditching my 6800GT SLI setup. But it isn't going to beat the 7800-series in SLI.

If the clock speeds are correct, then common sense would dictate that a single 7800 would perform very well. We're talking about a stock 120MHz increase on the core, and a 300MHz (600MHz effective) on the memory. The fill rate capabilities go through the roof with that kind of jump.
