5900NU to 6600GT or 6800

Is it worth upgrading from a 5900NU to a 6600GT or a 6800?

If so which one ? The 6600GT is $120. 6800 is about $165~...

I'd take the 6800...chance to unlock some pipes and such

Even going to a 6600gt would be a big difference, so its worth the upgrade

Neither, 800GTO^2 which turns into an x800XTPE for that price is best deal.


I feel sorry for you man.. one of the happeist day in my life was when I ripped all the memory off my 5900NU so I had an excuse to upgrade..slow slow slow.

i'd say the 6800nu as well, mine unlocked, but not everyone gets lucky. if your patient i would say wait for the 6800gs apg, cheaper than the 6800gt and just as fast.

when do u think the 6800GS AGP will come out. unlocking the pipes sounds good. But if the pipes dont unlock. is it worth the extra $45...

I think the 6600GT would run just fine for you. It is not that much slower than the 6800NU but it is a lot faster than your 5900NU.

according to the INQ, in two weeks, that article was posted on Nov. 17th. read it closely, cause it mentions that the NV40 core will be used(same as the 6800nu agp) who knows it might be able to unlock as well.
