Now I know alot of you will say no or to run it for 24 hours, but I unfortunately don't have the time to let my computer run prime for 24 hours straight. I just primed for 6 hours and 15 minutes without any errors or warnings. I'll post my computer in and overclock.

Computer:

Asus A8N32 SLI Deleuxe
Athlon 64 3700+ with XP90 and 92mm Ultra speed Panaflo
2 x 1GB Corsair XMS PC4000
2 x EVGA Geforce 7900GT CO Superclocked
Seagate 7200.9 250GB SATA2
PC Power & Cooling 510 SLI

My overclock is now at 2.72 GHz @ 1.45 volts (or 1.47-1.5, the A8N32 adds more automatically), 11 x 247. My memory is running 1:1 at 247 with 3-4-4-8 timings @ 2.6 volts.

My memory passes Memtest86 without any problems, and like I said has passed Prime95 for 6 hours and 15 minutes. Is this alright for now? I have seen others mention running other benchmarking programs such as 3dMark2001 to stress test, is that a good idea?

This was my first time overclocking a CPU. I used Zebos guide and would like to thank him for it.

Any advice is appreciated.

You don't plan on sleeping tonight?

Prime can run in the background, you know.

You don't sleep more than 6 hours at a time?

Leave it running overnight, I'd say at least go for 12, I've had hit errors 8 hours in, with both memtest and prime95 but never anything over 12.

Ofcourse its also up to you. Some people live on the seat of their pants, and as long as it is stable enough to let them play a few hours of the game of their choice then they're happy, it might not last 15 minutes in prime 95 but they don't care if their system "mysteriously" flips out on them somewhere down the line.

6 hours sounds pretty good, and you should be good to go (especially if you aren't demanding), but if you really want a rock solid system I'd suggest finding the time to test it longer.

I don't know bro, you can't run it while you sleep?

I mean you might as well go for the gold if you can.

The reason I didn't consider running while I sleep is that the fans I'm using aren't exactly the quietest, and my bed is 3 only 5 feet away. I'm not changing the fans, because I want maximum cooling potential.

Yeah I guess I could let it run while I'm at work tomorrow, I'm just concerned if the temperature jumped up high while I wasn't there. During that 6+ hours I had Prime running my temperature hit a maximum of 51C, and hovered between 47 - 51 the whole time.

Think I'd be ok leaving the computer running while I'm not home for 12 hours?

Sorry, I'm a noob at this and I'm just not wanting temperatures to get to high while I'm not around. Don't want to fry my CPU.

LOL. Yes! run it for 12 hours! the longer the better! (i sound like a broken record).

51C's isn't that bad either. you should get worried if it gets above 55C's (IMHO).

Alright, I ran Prime while I was at work, and just ended it a minute ago.

Prime lasted 21 hours and 31 minutes.

Stable at 2.72 GHz.

Max temp reached during Prime was 52C.

good enough

~24 hours is generally what is considered "prime stable"
