65in TV storage question...

I have a 65in mitsubishi rear-projection tv that will not fit in my new livingroom. Is it ok to store the TV in the garage where there is no heat? My concern is during the winter months when the tempature drops down below 30 F, will it harm the tv at all? Thanks.

Already have a 42in LCD in the livingroom that fits perfectly, so no need to use it.

And by store I meant not use at all...just wrap it up and keep it in the garage un-used.

Well in about 2 years time my wife and I will be moving again, so we just wanted to keep it, as the house we will move into will be considerably larger and we can use it as a familyroom or game room TV.

id sell it... its value is only going to decrease anyways

Not easily if it's going to be exposed to temperature fluctuations like that. You could try to maybe seal it in a plastic bag and put a bunch of desiccant inside. I'm not sure how well that would work though.

Seriously, sell it, and then when you move buy another one. It'll be cheaper then so you might get enough from selling this one to eat most of the cost.

I bet your not married with a family either. The days of having large TV's in my bedroom are over. The only rooms I have control over are the garage, office, and bathroom.

I bet your not married with a family either. The days of having large TV's in my bedroom are over. The only rooms I have control over are the garage, office, and bathroom.

Dude, in 2 years time you will either be able to get something better or cheaper.
Dump it while oyu can and just get something when you really need it/can use it.

Have to agree with selling it.

Selling it frees up storage space, eliminates risk for damage, gives you cash, and leaves you free to get whatever display you want in two years.

1080P should be quite affordable by then, plus god only knows what kind of copy protection scheme they'll be pushing then.

Your TV will essentially be obselete in two years, ditch it now while it's worth something.
