Situation plays out the same, Shogun 2, Crysis, Metro go to AMD. Skyrim, BF3, SC2 go to nvidia. AMD needs to put out their new higher clocked 7970 soon.

If the 670 follows the 680 and keeps its MSRP on newegg for $399, it will sell well. If someone has been waiting for the phantom 680, they might as well get a 670 for $100 less. The difference is only about 10% between the two, smaller than the past X70 vs X80 comparisons.

If it wasn't for the fact that I got my 7950 3 months ago, I would probably have bought one if I could hold out beyond the release of IB.

Nearly 50% faster in BF3, which is what I mostly play atm, and about 80% of the price I paid for my 7950.
If it had been out 3 months ago, it would have been an easy decision.
For anyone buying now it's super easy. Kinda makes everything else from both NV and AMD not worth buying.

Yes it is. Overclocked I pull 56fps in BF3 multi so im undecided. Im only buying if I can get an Asus 670

680 is hardly available anyways. I doubt these cards will be available much either though. Many of those waiting on a 680 who can't find one would quite likely go for these to save $100, along with people who have been waiting for a cheaper card from nvidia on 28nm.

I agree though, you are talking a less than 10% difference between the two at the same clock speeds for $100 more, with the 670 demonstrating the ability to clock as well as the 680 with overclocking.

I know. I've been refreshing every minute. I want to get my Asus/Gigabyte and be done with it. I cannot get over Newegg's shipping. I typically get what I ordered within a day or two with standard shipping.
