6800GS or 7800GT and what Manufactuer?

I know people will say yeah go for 7800GT... which I am willing, but I just want high performance playing a game like Planetside or DOD Source or Far Cry. Dont need HIGHEST res and settings but want great ones still and be stable and smooth, good FPS tired of lagging and everything with my crap system now. Now, obviously other factors like RAM factor in, I have or will 1gb (at least) and 3700+ AMD Athlon processor.

Now I dont want to spend over 300 really on card, cant. I mean will put another 20 down if needed but get idea. And manufactuers getting to me, ive had okay dealins with XFX in past. eVGA seems most popular and very good... then hear BFG is best from others, etc, may be preference (BFG is also BFM (Big frickin Money) so not sure go with BFG. Anyways thanks for input anyone =)

It would be easier if you know the exact resoultion you are going to run at and what settings you intend to use (4AA/16AF etc. )

As for a manufactuer, EVGA and BFG both have lifetime warranties, I'm not sure about XFX, another thing to look for If your buying a 7800 is the clock speed as some come factory overclocked

eVGA 7800 gt from monarchcomputer for 280

eVGA's lifetime warranty covers everything including ocing and taking off the original heatsink

7800 gt for the win, might want to consider evga as well, not sure if HIS makes nvidia, never bought one.

I would get the XFX 6800GS, since it is 210 shipped, comes OCed, and can be overclocked to 545/1200 in most cases, which is enough to run BF2 on high everyhing, 4x AA. If the 7800GT, EVGA or XFX, since they have the best warranties and included stuff.
