People don't seem to realise running two 7800GTXs does not mean you have redundant power - case in point: with 16x AA/AF at 1280x1024 with everything maxxed, I get ~5fps. Now somebody tell me there is no point to SLI.
The fact is you can run games with so much cranked up than you could with a single card. It also provides that extra buffer of processing which means even in the heaviest fire fights your card never slows down or jerks in the slighest - silky smooth 100% of the time.
Is it a good proposition in terms of value? Hell no. But since when was even a single 7800GTX been a good value proposition anyway? Since when has
anything high-end been good value?
The point is, at the end of the day, having a second 7800GTX SLI tangibly and undeniably improves the gaming experience. Period.
