sandorski: I apologize for not working more on this one. I've been studying for the LPI Linux cert (work is paying for it-I just need to pass between now and January 11 and sandwich a 7-day vacation to KY in-between). Anyway, I now have all the references and just need to compile everything.

Just a note: After everything I've read thus far, one could probably roughly equate many of the assertions as based on factual events, albeit with a bias. Aside from a few minor differences with a few passages, I have a major difference with the author's interpretation of the "Reichssicherheitshauptamt" (RHSA), but will go more into detail on that a little later.

But honestly, what I think is really hosed up is that I found other related instances in journals, newspapers and books that the author could have included to strengthen the essay's message. Talk about messed up!

I think the most important point the author conveys is that we should never allow the government, or in this case, our "leader", to methodically assume power on such a comprehensive and repressive scale. The scenario presented to us in the essay is quite a haunting actualization if we really ponder it at length.

I read one account describing Hitler's use of a magician's mentoring in attaining that level of captivation. Very interesting account, I might add.

Personally, I think Bush is worse at public speaking now as President than during the time he served as Texas Governor. Just my opinion, of course.
