I am currently running a Pentium 3 700 slot1 (cbo stepping). I have it running 1.85 volts @ 1021 MHZ, using a Abit BE-6 motherboard with 256mb crucial ram. This chip is rock stable. Runs windows me and quake 3 with no problem. An alpha p3 125 fan on proc with a antec sx830 case. 2 80mm fans in front and 2 80mm fans in rear. This chip runs very cool. 87F is hottest its seen and it idles at night with house at 66F the chip runs 67F to 68F. The sandra shows 146 front side bus (146x7=1022mhz right?). Is this the limits on this chip and what does the slot1 and cbo steping mean????????

dail up modem huh? your the only one who can know the limits of the cpu, but P3's normally don't go past 1050 mhz. slot 1 means that you have a slot style cpu, like an old nintendo cartdrage (not the socket type with all the pins). stepping is a revision of the chip, they did something to alter the core which normally means it can hit a higher clock speed or it fixes a bug. Cc0 is the latest stepping. Cb0 stepping is a good one to have, they normally overclock well.

sounds like you have a great chip. congrats.
that speed is about what is see most "good" chips run.my cco runs great under normal use at 1050 but i have to jump voltage up to 1.95 for stability when gameing.and while lanning i'll set down to 1021@1.85 just for the fact of how long its running at full bore.hehehe
as far as sandra's readings compared to bios being different, you'll find slight differences in programs of that nature and its normal.
your temps sound like your looking at mb readings.air cooled chips seem to run around 30c and 50c with those speeds and voltage.mine runs normaly about 33c/91f cpu and 28c/72f motherboard for normal stuff and 46/114 cpu and 30/86 full load.

Actually, you're past the official limits for the cB0 core. The highest intel took this core is 933@1.65V. You have a cool chip, that's for sure. My 750@933 FC 1.75V runs 125°F under heavy load (intel all aluminum h/s fan). I'd like to see what that chip runs at using that voltage under SETI@home after 24 hours. You're running a full 0.2V above spec. I suspect it would be MUCH higher than 87°F.
