For the AA issue, every single title D3D or OGL currently. Nothing will run with over 4x AA. My R9800Pro has no problem, other then being really slow I can run a 4:3 or 5:4 aspect ratio and enable it, but for some reason the little center screen option in CCC doesn't appear to do anything, I get a stretched signal no matter what.
For the shimmering it seems to be present in almost every game I have tried save Doom3, it is an abomination in certain titles- Mafia in particular there are certain areas where I honestly can't tell what I am looking at. Also- running the latest Cats I can't seem to get any Quake3 powered games to run at all but that is on either my CRT or LCD.
I've never heard of that widescreen problem either. My brother's X1800XL played every game just fine on a Dell 2005fpw. 6xAA seemed to work great. He never played Mafia but he played all the Source games, Doom3, FEAR, UT2004, FarCry, and COD2 with no issues.
Rolled back to the 6.1s and everything seems to be working fine.
6x AA only enables 4x AA for me running the latest, errrr, drivers. I would rate them as pre alpha at best- more then half of the OGL apps I tried wouldn't work at all(forget w/AA- wouldn't start) nor several D3D. Also major image corruption and stability issues. Cleaned them out, installed 6.1 and all is well- problems gone.
