Umm, no. I was merely pointing out the stupidity of paying $600 for a video card that can be found for less than $500.00
I've owned 4 6800s, so I wouldn't exactly say I worship ATI.
Do you realize how sad that is? Calling people stupid for what they paid for things?
A. It's their money.
B. If they have $600 for a video card they're likely not "stupid".
C. Gee, I bet you've bought something in your life that somebody else bought cheaper the next day.
The only "stupid" one here is the person calling others names because they didn't choose to wait for a cheaper price on a product they wanted.
No, my whole arguement was based on yours and other's opinion that $600.00 was a fair price for a 7800GTX. It clearly isn't when the card can be had for $500.00.
It's been my experience that it doesn't take much intelligence to fill out a credit card application.
$600 is a fair price for the 7800GTX. As others have noted GF2 Ultras were $499 at first. Gee, you think years later a card can launch at a $100 more?
The fact that competition has brought prices down to the $530-$550 you can find them at a few places is a testament to nVidia bring the product to market in quantity.
Anyone else remember paying WAY more than MSRP for Phantom Editions last year, if you could find one, for months?"
It's also a testament to supply and demand. If the demand were high enough the price wouldn't have dropped.
