Bleh, reading this thread really makes me want to upgrade.

My socket A system scores in at a measly 5820.

CPU - Barton 2600+ @2430MHz (210fsb 2-3-2-6-T1)
GPU - ATI X850 XT PE

Since I've gone this long without upgrading, I'll probably wait for socket M2 before doing so.

Just updated my score. 13,966. Bah. Just a few more points to break 14,000.

EVGA 7800GT @ 505 core 1.15 mem

Unfortunately GPU temps went up to 69C on full load, which is probably due to the extra heat in case from my processor. Edit: After looking at other peoples scores, I am curios as to why mine is this high. The clocks on the card were taken from Coolbits auto detect, and I am getting scores that are equal to some people who are getting 1200 on mem. The core on this card overclocks quite well, but the memory isn't as good. Is it because of the relatively high core clock or what?

You're probably higher because of your dual core proc. With Nivida's newer drivers the X2's are giving a nice boost to 3DMark05 scores. Seems on average that an X2 running at 400MHz less than a single core AMD proc scores about the same.

Well, I can't find it right now but there have been numerous posts over at Xtreme about this topic and for the high-end video cards the X2 combined with Nvidia's newer drivers provides a boost to your overall 3DMark05 score over a single core proc at the same speeds. I'll try to find the post later where a guy tested both procs out on the same system and the X2@2.6GHz slightly outscored the single core Opteron@3.0GHz (can't remember the exact clocks but it was a 400MHz difference).

My score was at 5750 or so, I was wondering why X800's could beat it but then I found out my friend set AA at 8xS

Got a 7840. Running 494/1200 on stock cooler. Any good? Seems about right on par with everyone else. I want to break 8000 though.

On edit: In fear, the game was having major issues at those speeds. Dropped down to 475/1200 and got ~7650. I will have to play with it some more and see what happens. Still need to do the fear test at these speeds too.

I also wonder if I should update to the latest bios. I have an evga card, and I think there were artifacting issues. Anyone know?

Look below for rig.

This is an update. I posted earlier before I got my 2nd 7800GT. I bet I can break 11k in 05 & 25k in 03 with my CPU @ 250*10 / 2.5ghz.

Nice. I only scored around 9,700 at stock in 3DMark05.

PNY were the cheapest Retail cards I found aswell but from my past experiences with PNY they build good cards with high quality components. I managed 8217 with a single card (500/1200) & 12,089 SLI (500/1200) which seems about right for a 2.4GHz Venice, lol.

I JUST got this card today and slapped it in and installed the latest drivers.

Any tips for tweaking this card? It's a BFG.

Seems about right to me. I got 7069 with default NVIDIA settings and an eVGA 7800GT. I also have a 3500+, though a Winchester and it's not overclocked, so 2.2 GHz. That doesn't impact the 3Dmarks though.
