7800GTX or 2 7800GTs

basically as title really, 2 evga 7800GT 517s run around $640, will 2 of these be faster than a single 7800GTX?

Hold it off until the next wave of newer video cards. The 6800 ultra is still plenty good for todays game. I don't see what is the rush here.

Same could be said about the next nvidia refresh, if anything is ever officially stated about it

by the time the R580 actually reaches retail channels, Nvidia will have its next refresh out, if not its next card, plus Id prefer SLI to the mess that Crossfire is right now...oh I wish ATI returned to form like the old 9700/9800 Pro days...

I just ordered a single 7800GT for right now....the 6800Ultra is plenty right now, but I really wanted PCI-E and a new motherboard

yeah , what i read in other forums and heard from people is that r580 beat the 7800gtx 512mb by 25% +... but they maybe talking about supper expensive card x1900xtx
