Whoot! I got in on this. I went to the Hillsborough Avenue location in Tampa, Florida and there maybe 5 on the shelf. They had higher price tags and for some reason, they were all located on the top shelf which you need a ladder to get to. I found one that someone obviously left on a lower shelf and asked if it was still on sale. Yup! $99 and tax and I am out the door. I would say hurry if you want one.

OT: Haha. I live in the middle of Long Island, NY; about 30 minutes from the nearest CompUSA. I ordered one of these puppies online when they first were available (hey, I'm lazy). It shipped today, and you'd figure that theyd send it out from at least somewhere in NY. Here's what my tracking info says:

Yup, it's a little trick the hard drive manufacturers like to play. The box is saying that there are 80 billion bytes, NOT 80 true gigabyte (1 KB = 1,024 bytes, 1MB = 1,024KB, 1GB = 1,024MB). If you multiply 74.5 * 1,024 three times you'll get 80 billion.

Just imagine when they start making drives in the terabyte range. An 80 terabyte hard drive would ONLY be 72.76 terabytes.

All you guys are lucky. The 2 CompUSA's in Hawaii didn't receive ANY drives in. But they did put peoples names down on a list in the computer and they said they would call when the drives came in, possibly a month or so. I'm still waiting for a CDRW drive from last summer.... + they would only let people sign up for 1 drive (even though the add didn't state any limits). I signed my wife up for one as well as my friend... Hopefully they come in!

I agree. Anyone else wondering why they bother to check "local" availability when you order online, only to ship the item from Texas? Staples does the same thing.
