940BE temperature not showing up.

I wish i could remember exactly when this problem started, but i can't recall. When i realized that my temperatures were all within safe limits, i stopped monitoring them 24/7. At some point my temps started reading as 0'c for most programs (Core temp, speedfan, AMD overdrive, hardware monitor, etc.) and -256'c for others.

I know that my temps are safe (generally under 40'c!) with my Xigmatek Dark Knight, but I really want to know if there is anything i can possibly do to make it so that all 4 cores don't show up as 0'c.

I'm running a Foxconn A7DA-S with the most recent updates according to the Fox liveupdate utility.

Every single other temp sensor seems to be running normally and reporting normally. It's purely the CPU Core # that show up as 0'c

Is ACC on? my temp sensor (PhII 940) went nuts when I enabled acc.

Would that continue even if i haven't used it in a long time? ACC shows -256c per core.

Without it on, everything else shows 0'c. I used ACC to get up to a stable 3.6ghz and then, after realizing that the heat and the power both were not necessary, i went down to stock and turned on C&Q. I'm sure in the future i may enjoy that 3.6, but i don't really find it necessary right now. I think i was running about 31c non overclocked if i recall correctly, 45c load.

I think there's some confusion here, let me try to fix.

AOD = AMD OverDrive. The application where you're seeing temperature readings of -256C, a tool used for monitoring/overclocking
ACC = Advanced Clock Calibration, an option in the BIOS. Turn it off and the temps will likely come back. It's used mainly for unlocking cores, pointless on an X4.

oops, yeah, i was thinking the AMD overdrive.

I don't think i have ACC on, if i do, somehow, have it turned on - it must be by using a different name. As i said, i'm currently running everything stock, so i disabled all overclocking measures.

would RMA even be possible on a black edition chip after i've overclocked it and used an aftermarket heatsink and thermal paste, not to mention used it for roughly 4 months?

....I really, really, really doubt its a bad temp sensor.

You have ACC enabled for sure. Its a BIOS setting. It's probably set to hybid/auto, set it to normal or disabled.

Also, try Everest, its known to provide temperatures even when ACC is enabled.

Edit: I don't think any manufacturer uses a different term for ACC. Look for something with a table of values, usually -2, much like this:
