I'm totally confused now. You're saying it might be a 128-bit version, yet the newegg description has it as a 256-bit version. People who've called newegg to confirm reported back saying that the newegg CSR says it's 256-bit.
And now the description has changed from retail to OEM. If we wait a little longer maybe it'll also change from 256-bit to 128-bit.
I'm still going to wait on this until someone who's purchased this can report back to us.

No, I was just showing the difference between the retail version and the oem version. It is still listed OEM on Newegg.
No, it keeps going back and forth between Retail and OEM.

I think this is the true 256bit version. The price is right. Since X800 is out, the 9800pro price will be $159 in a few days.
BTW, 9800pro with R360 core is already $159 in Asia.

I read somewhere that they are selling 9800Pro was slower ram in Japan. I guess their trying to get rid of stock so whatever ram and stuff they have their putting on cards.

"Dear Customer,
I spoke with product support, and the item pictured is a 9800 pro. It is stated as so on the bar code sticker. I asked them about the L-shaped memory set up. Unfortunately, we do not gurantee revisions. Generally, our stock moves so fast that we have the latest version or revision of everything. Unfortunately, we do not have a way to physically get our hands on our most current stock and tell you what revision we have at the moment. Also, we cannot tag a particular item for a particular order. We ship what we have, when we have it, at our discretion. We do not guarantee revision numbers unless it is specifically noted on the description on the website."

So what does this all mean? That it's not a butchered 9800 pro?

Looks like it may be a 128bit version of a 9800 pro. Link Read all about it.
