A good roomy case

I want a good roomy case. 4 hard drives, 1 SSD for now maybe another one. 2 or more 5.25 slots. I want one that can handle longer video cards and can handle a Hyper 212 EVO or water cooling. I was looking at the Obsidian Series and 750D Graphite Series 760T cases, but they are not silent cases. I would like a quiet case if possible. I haven't look too much at other cases. I don't care if it is a mid or full tower case. I was looking at full towers because I didn't think you could get a mid tower case with all of that. I kind of didn't want a big heavy bulky tower, don't think I have a choice though. Around $200 at the most, but of course cheaper is better lol. Would like your help thank you.

Well, a case can be as loud or as quiet as you want to make it. The 760T is a very good case. Tons of room, good for water cooling. The only thing I would change out, are the fans for quieter ones. Very few cases have really quiet fans from the factory, because really quiet fans are expensive. I actually like the 780T more than the 760T.

But either of those with some better fans would do everything you want.

EDIT: A slightly smaller mid tower like the 230T may work for you as well. Not as much space, but its a lot smaller than the 700 series.

Fractal Define R5. It has everything you want, and is a mid-tower. It comes in different configurations, three colors (black, white, titanium), and typically is about $100 range.

The Define series is a decent choice, and comes fairly well sound damped OOB. I use a Define Mini for my HTPC... you can't hear it. It IS made of steel, so it's a fairly heavy case, but mass helps in sound damping as well. Even my Mini has space for 6 HDD's and 2 5.25" drives, the R5 would allow for more. The Mini will allow a full-size GPU, but you may lose the top HDD cage (3 drives,) I'm not sure about the R5.

I was thinking Define Mini, also. However, OP would be limited to mATX motherboards. I also have an R4 and quite frankly, if ATX and the couple of MB tray SSD mounting spots weren't necessary I would just stick with the Define Mini. It actually seems/seemed quieter. The middle HDD cage can be completely removed in any of the Define cases to allow a longer GPU

If you really want r00my, get a Corsair Carbide Air540.....you can almost park a truck inside the thing, even after installing the components It has removable HDD/SSD cages and plenty of space for big coolers/rads/gpus etc...

And Yes, I have one, that why I made this recommendation.....

Wow that thing is huge and is cheaper than the 780T. How is that possible lol. The Carbide Air540 is a bit to much for me for right now, but I will definitely remember it for maybe later or as a recommendation to check out to a friend that wants a huge case.

Which fans are you talking about?

Fractal Define R5 looks really good if you don't want a full tower. It can do water cooling too if I decide to do that and its a silent case. The Fractal Design Define R5 is not much lighter than the 780T. Hmm not sure which one I want now lol.

+1 also for the XL R2. I have stuffed internally in this case:
1x120mm rad + 1 fan
2x140mm rad + 2 fans
2x120mm thick rad + 2 stock fans at front of case
5 1/2" bay res/pump combo
1/2" tubing
1200w PSU
2xAMD 290 video cards (I actually had 3 in there earlier)
120mm fan blowing air onto back of video cards
2xHDD + 2xSSD
1xBlu Ray burner

I used to have the Corsair Air 540 but the XL R2 is way better IMO. Looks nicer, air filters, and it takes up way less horizontal area on the floor, which to me is more crucial than the case being tall.

Not necessarily the quietest case but the Thermaltake Core X-9 is huge!

I like the Define XL R2. Thermaltake Core X-9 is to big for me. Looking at Fractal Design. looks like they make some good cases and cheaper than Corsair. The full towers from Fractal Design weight 30 lbs or more. Does silent cases make a big difference in noise level? How silent is a silent case.http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811352048

Been using the Define R2 XL for the past several years. It's a great case, though the Define R5 is probably enough for most users. That's already quite a roomy case.

The case does have sound-absorbing material on the inside and no unnecessary windows that leak noise, but a case is only as silent as the components you put into it. If you have loud GPU or CPU fans, you'll still hear them. I run the case fans at 7V via the built-in fan controller, and the CPU fan and rear exhaust fans are hooked up to the motherboard and controlled via SpeedFan. It's by no means "silent", but fairly quiet, especially at idle.

Yep the XL R2 is a bit of a heavy case. As mentioned earlier it also has lots of sound absorbing material so it is relatively quiet. I can still hear the fans but it's not too bad.

Why has no one mentioned the Phanteks Enthoo Pro? Roomy, excellent cooling, the drives pop out easily as do the entire hard drive cage if need be. It has amazing reviews.

Since I own one, one downside is that there are holes at the side where the intake is that are not filtered, I had to put black electrical tape on them from the inside.

Another good case is their mini enthoo pro. It's much smaller, it'll handle ATX and huge heat sinks and has 2 HDD cages and spots for an SSD too

Enthoo Pro doesnt have sound deadening though right? It looks like a great case, but might not be optimal for the OP
