Wouldn't it be fun to create a new Anandtech sub-team focusing on curing diseases? That team would work similar to TAS with challenges in the different projects. Or maybe it could be a future part of TAS? Personally I don't like projects like chess or all those (I don't mean to offend the crunchers) and that's the reason why I hesitate to join TAS.

What do you think ?

By the way: Rosetta runs great and a bit faster on windows vista public beta 2 than on windows xp sp2

Hey Phili, we have one big rule - actually two - at TAS:

#1 Have FUN!!

#2 if you don't like the project of the month, crunch something else!

For example, I'm no fan of math projects and thus whenever TAS does one, I just sit out that month and crunch something else. It has never been a problem and won't ever be. So, in that respect, you don't need to hesitate to join TAS.

Is it possible to create teams, and still be part of the TeAm? I've been wondering this, as I would like for me and Liz to form a team. Simply for sh!ts and giggles, so it isn't necessary or anything. Just would be fun I think.

That depends on the project you crunch. Some allow(ed) mini or subteams, but as far as I know none of the current BOINC projects allows subteams to be part of a other team, I mean, stats and ranks wise.

But of course you can always combine your two accounts - or start a new one - and crunched with joined forces on just one account and call that one "Fullmetal Liz" or something the like. TeAm Enterprise and the Rebel Alliance are the two big ones we have here at TA, where people joined forces and crunch under one shared account.

Oh, we couldn't share an account... I love her and everything, but that's going too far. (we couldn't continue our current race otherwise).

Well for one thing, TAS never did do the Chess Project because is was in Alpha stage and closed to the signups. Of course that didn't stop TA members from making sure we came in at #1. Muhahahahah!!!

But as BMC points out, the two rules for TAS seem to be working quite well. I've voted each time I've had the chance - sometimes I participate if I have an interest and some times I don't. But I won't knock a project just because I don't happen to think it's "worthwhile" compared to some others. Crunch what you like and have fun doing it - it's really just that simple.

Whatever you crunch or team you are in, you and yours enjoy crunching.:sun:

Another representing "Rebel Alliance."

"Team Enterprise" is also a great team too.
