A trip to Vegas...

Going to Vegas with a group of friends(guys and gals) in 2 weeks. Anyone who's been there wanna suggest things to do? So far we're going to the shark reef, the club in Luxor, and the free shows(pirate show outside of Treasure Island, and the water show at the Bellagio). We'll also just walk the strip and then gamble some... What else?

Oh, see freemont street (downtown)....get tickets to a REAL show...there are many, many inexpensive, great shows in town.

Buy the tickets in Vegas. There is a shop by name half price tickets or something like that. They sell all the tickets for exactly half the price.

Blue man group show in Luxor. Dont miss it.
Worlds greatest magic show in Greek Isles is cool.

Not sure about Ka or Cirque de solil.

Best thing to do is get off the Strip for awhile...go downtown and see the old Vegas and get away from the touristy crap when you get sick of that after first 3-4 days.

The entire city is touristy (well, the parts that actually have tourists, but most people don't care to see generic suburbia)...we're just good enough at it that you think they are not.

If you like seafood, check out the Rio seafood buffet on Friday/Saturday, all you can eat lobsters = teh yummy.

Probably pretty expensive? We were also told the buffet at the Aladdin(our hotel) is really really good.

Climb Mt. Charleston. The southern face is a nice 4-6 hour walk to 11,848 feet. You can see 4 states on a clear day.

I'll be doing it in September/October.

4 wheel ride through the valley of fire is also very, very cool.
