It's cheaper than a life time of "rehab" that she will never get to use in the real world because she will still be in jail. Making excuses for committing violent actions is a BS way of getting out of responsibility. The fact is still there that that person committed the act and should thus be punished for it.

Well folks look at it this way, Texas is not generally known for coddling its criminals, so she may actually have to face justice.

Unlike california where she would be given the medal the customs officer would go to PMITA prison.
