A7N8X-E Deluxe or AN7

Hi all, I need an Abit AN7 or Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe for a customer and he's not sure which one. Since I'm not up on AMD boards, I'm not either. Do any of you have any info on either of these boards like any problems with them? Then I'd know which to avoid. He also wants Corsair C2 2x256mb so if anyone has any info as to compatibility (good or bad) with that memory and these mobo's please let me know. Any input appreciated.

I haven't owned the Abit AN7, but I have owned the NF7-S.
The only real difference between these boards is the AN7 has uGuru.
The NF7-S tends to be a better overclovker, though.

I ordered the Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe and received it Dead on Arrival.
I RMAed it 3 times and got it DOA every time, though I suspect the website was just repackaging the board I sent and sending it back.
I know a couple of people on campus that got the board not DOA.
From what I've seen, the board is solid.

Both boards should work with corsair memory just fine.
Both boards should overclock similarly, though it would probably be easier on the Abit.
Both boards are solid boards.
I'd take a look at the features and price to make a definite decision.

Thanks for the info. Currently they are both the same price at Pricewatch's cheapest listing. The Asus seemed to have more features, but motherboards.org said the AN7 was a bit faster. I saw the NF7-S a few hours ago and started looking into it, but it looks a bit older than the AN7, but seems to have more features. Also, according to review sites, the Asus is faster than the NF7, which would make the AN7 a faster board. I'm sure one would be more concerned with stability though.

I just happened to go to the Corsair website, and (surprise surprise) contrary to what vendors are saying about the C2 memory, it will not run CAS2 on AMD platforms. Corsair site says CAS2 on P4, CAS2.5 on AMD. Can anyone confirm this is true, the C2 won't do CAS2 on these boards, and the LL is necessary for CAS2 operation?

I can't confirm either way.
I've been able to get all sorts of high latency memory to run tight timings on my NF7-S.
I haven't actually worked with corsairs higher latency memory, though.

As far as the faster board is concerned, the AN7 may be faster at stock performance, but the NF7-S will overclock better.
The stock performance difference between the AN7 and the A7N8X should only be marginal.
So, I'd still go with the best featured board.
