Seriously though I dunno, call it a late night bump. Are you having these problems @ stock speeds? Maybe try going back to the 1001.c bios?

300W generic PSU, ack. Grab at least a quality 300W+ unit like an Antec TruePower330, Sparkle Power FSP300 or 350, or Enermax 365-series... or higher. This ain't your daddy's Celeron300 system... Good luck!

Help! I got a new Dodge Viper and it only pulls 0.55G on the skidpad! I've got all the right stickers, aftermarket steering wheel and some tires off a Ford Escort station wagon. Any ideas?

Check the APIC mode on the mobo. Some cards won't install with APIC enabled. Try PIC mode instead of APIC.
The PSU is also highly suspect. The Radeon 9700 card alone will bring it to its knees.

Some cheap PSUs don't live upto their rating:disgust:

Before condeming it though I would test it out with a multimeter

That's minimum requirements. Is it even an AMD approved/recommended PS? Tell us what the current ratings at the various voltages are

First, enter bios and set fsb to 100 for processor. Next, install xp (do not install nforce2 drives until the end) and all updates including sp1. Then, installnforce2 drivers from XP updates site. Boot your machine. If all is well then congrads and commence in the overclocking mayhem!!
