A8N-SLI-Deluxe Memory Suggestions

Well it's time again to build another computer and I have decided to put together a combo deal from Monarch. I have selected the A8N-SLI deluxe with a 3200+ and plan to OC to 3500+ speeds. The memory selections range from $188-$272 for a wide variety of 1Gig twin memory. Can anyone give any suggestions on which memory to select for this board ?

This---> Patriot PDP PDC1G3200LLK is some really nice memory for the bux. Samsung TCCD on Brainpower pcb's.

The only problem is that Monarch will only bundle OCZ and Corsair memory with their Combo's.

I have the same. 2GB of it........the COrsair TwinX PC4400C25 is good ram. It has enough overhead to cover your later upgrades. (Meaning I won't be buying RAM anytime soon.)

I also have 1GB of the Kingston HyperX PC3500......never had a problem with it. GOOD RAM.......

has anybody tried corsair pc3200xl memory on this mobo?

If you look at the Monarch combo selections you will see that they only offer only PC3200 memory and Corsair PC3200xl is one of there selections. My question is why don't they offer any faster memory other than PC3200? I notice that others in this forum are building AMD64 systems with PC4000 and PC4400 memory. I would like to know if Monarch is offering PC3200 because it is the only memory that is known to be stable and they don't want to take any risks with their combo package's ? Is it worth buying the faster PC4000 memory or not for the little bit of OC ing I plan to do ?

For ASUS, get Corsair, for MSI, get Ballistix, and for DFI, get G.Skill

I happen to have 2GB worth (4x512) running at DDR400 speeds.

Here is ASUS's list of qualified memory modules, I recommend Corsair .

the ram you have listed, the "Corsair PC4400C25" is that the:

"TWINX1024-4400C25" with black heat spreaders or the
"CMX512-4400C25PT" with the platinum heat spreaders?

i only ask because I'm having the same issue with an A8N-SLI mobo.
i can only get one RAM chip to work on my board. I have the:

"Corsair TWINX1024-3200XLPT 1GB Kit DDR400 XMS3200 Dual-Channel Xtra-Low Latency Memory w/Platinum Heat Spreader"

and get single beeps unless i have only one chip on the b1 slot. i think it's not compatible, so i want to know what is working in this mobo.

ANY INPUT is appreciated.

I'm using PC3200XLPRO, the XMS series with the fancy LED readouts.. just put it together last night, haven't installed the O/S yet, will let you know how it goes..

im using that in my a8n, big upgrade from the value ram i had. running at 1t now at cas2.
actually made about +4 fps difference in doom3 at 1600x1200 just by itself.

I remember when i checked out the monarch build for the a8n, its a great deal for everything. ONly problem was the memory selection, seemed a bit limited and a bit over priced. Can you call them and have them omit the memory or something?

i think that may be a mobo problem, i have the same memory as you, Corsair TWINX1024-3200XLPT 1GB Kit DDR400 XMS3200 Dual-Channel Xtra-Low Latency Memory w/Platinum Heat Spreader, and they work fine in all slots.

I have "Corsair TWINX1024-3200XLPT 1GB Kit DDR400 XMS3200 Dual-Channel Xtra-Low Latency Memory w/Platinum Heat Spreader" in my system and it is running fine, booted up first time. It's running dual channel DDR460 @ 1T.

Thanks for the info regarding the twinx-1024-3200xlpt memory.

Hmmm. Think it's a bad board or something I need to tweak? Any suggestions for things to check? I'm running the 1004 BIOS.

i am not sure, mine was able to be recognized right away but i did have to up the voltage manualy t0 2.75, otherwise it puts it lower. i used and am using 1003, i havent got around to tryen 1004 yet but i dont think that would be the problem, you may have a bad slot on the board, sorry. rma it if need be.
