I don't see how a sane person could do something like that to thier own children. She needs to spend the rest of her life in a treatment center, but I don't see any point in sending someone like that to prison. Let her have the child, take it from her at birth. Then at least the father will have a family of sorts again.

loosbrew: No, as far as I know only Catholicism holds artificial Birth Control is a sin. Its one of the most difficult parts of Catholicism to understand the reasons behind, and it took me years of theology and Apologetics to understand it fully. Needless to say, we practice Natural birth control called Natural Family Planning. Pros: Free, safe, acceptable in our faith. Cons: periods of abstinence suck - and thats the biggest failure point in NFP, that couples cheat.

Anyway, this thread isn't about birth control, as like I said, no religion forces anyone to have more kids than they can handle - like 5 in 7 years!

Blaming this on religion is simply the weakest of the blame games. Thank God she didn't play Doom or Congress would be banning it right now.

Maybe she liked hamburgers - is there a link between hamburgers and murder?

She knew what she was doing was wrong - why else would she IMMEDIATELY call the police on herself? I don't know that she should die, but if she ever walks free again in society I am going to be really disappointed in our justice system.
