172:431 is all shes got on 1.71v.
tried 173:346 and it still locks up in 3dmark2000.

hopefully my XMS will hold out this high ~ aint worth losing a cas setting for 1-2fsb...

Mikki ~ temps are a little higher, but the temps are wrong anyways so... as long as it dont reach 67*C and throttle im happy (remember they are a good 12*C higher then an Asus board)

Yeah, that's annoying that ya can't get an accurate/true reading of temps/voltage, but like you said, as long as it isn't throttling..... I'm not gonna mess with my stock hsf on this one, I'm going straight to my Swiftech.

Hope that XMS holds up too, if your's doesn't, mine definitely won't.

ill be getting this dialed in for the next day or so ~ keep an eye on my sig for my progress

not bad for a $131 cpu eh?

memtest86 (all 11 tests, 5 hour loop)
cas2522 passed upto 170fsb 4:5 426ddr

(it only took me 10 mins to do it ~ its simple)
if the wire mod is this boards only flaw ~ i still give it a 10 out-of 10

True, only if I didn't have an Alpha heatsink bolted through the holes near the CPU. I tried upping both mem and cpu voltage to the top, but it still doesn't cold boot every time. The other people who had this problem with IT7 have tried pretty much everything but nothing seems to work. Some boards just have this prob and others not. Now I'll just have to hope the new one I get is ok.

im using an alpha ~ i dont need to remove the board to remove the HSF.
...and i do it quite often too

you dont need to cleanup the cpu but cleanup the heatsink.
the AS on the cpu is still good, just add a tiny bit to make sure its all even again.
(plastic baggy over finger works well here)

you obviously replaced the factory washer w/ the old 'lock washer and nut'
nice move (what a royal pain when one of the underneath factory nuts gets unscrewed)
