Abit IS7 + 4 DIMMs?

A friend has an Abit IS7 Motherboard (it has 4 DIMM slots although he is at work and does not know the exact version) and has 1GB (2 x 512MB) of Kingstone Hyper X (KHX3200ULK2/1G) which appears to be double sided memory.

He wants to add 2 more 512MB of memory to arrive at a total of 2GB of memory.

My question is: Can his MB take 2 more double sided DIMMs? The Abit manual in section 2-3 (link below) indicates that it has 8 banks for the 4 slots and says, "Install DIMM modules of the same type and size for slots [DIMM1]+[DIMM3], and slots [DIMM2]+[DIMM4]." There is no mention of memory module limitations (unlike my Asus manual that clearly indicates limitations).

Why won't my all of my memory modules work when all of my slots are populated?

Memory controllers have a bank limit. With desktop chipsets the limit is usually four or six. If you're using two double sided DIMMs with a
chipset limit of four banks, even if you have DIMM slots available, you won't be able to add any more memory because the controller cannot
address it. This goes for both Intel and AMD systems.

Any help on confirming if this motherboard can, or cannot, accept 2 more Double Sided DIMMs would be appreciated!
