OK, not the most descriptive of titles but...
My friend has an abit kt7. The fan on the Northbridge (?) chip is acting strange. It pulses on and off, comming to a complete stop every couple seconds, and producing a grinding/droning noise. In and of itself this wouldn't strike me as a problem, since I don't think that active cooling is too necessary on that part. (This is a 800 T-bird/ PC133 system.)
However, this behavior is coupled with a performance issue, namely the mouse is intermitently jerky/freezing for a short period (0.5-1.0 sec). Do these sound at all related?
Is the mouse jerkiness a SW or operating system problem? (We've tried several mice- they act the same.)
Is this a motherboard problem? CPU? Power supply?
Any SWAGs from the esteemed members of this board would be appreciated. Thanks.
