Abit KT7-RAID won't POST

Hello,

I just got all my stuff today for my duron @ 900 system and I put everything together. Well I staredted off with the minimum an AGP Video Card, HDD, PC133 RAM and the CPU with FOP32. I turn on the computer and nothing happens. The fans on the Abit KT7 RAID work and my CPU fan works but nothing beeps. I tried to reseat the CPU and the AGP Card but no luck. Still no beep !!!. Waiting to see what's going on.

If anybody could help me please I want this setup asap.

Antec 300 Watt Power Supply
Abit KT7-RAID
Duron 600 pretested to 900 I can see that the 5th L7 cache line is penciled in and then L1 Cache lines are penciled in.
Maxtor UDMA 66 27 GB HDD
Micron PC133 SDRAM 256 MB
Visiontek GF 2 MX

I am going to get a voodoo 3 2000 PCI tommorrow maybe it will work with it I don't know. I just don't understand why it doesn't post. PLEASE HELP !!!!

OK. First off, pull the HDD. You don't need that to get a Post.

Second, pull the mobo from the case. You always want to factor in user error no matter how good your track record is. Put the board on top of a box and run the P/S cable to it.

Your RAM is compatible, but let's assume that it could be bad. Have a PC speaker hooked up and see if it beeps if you REMOVE the RAM. Do the same for the video card.

so I just hook up the motherboard to the Power Supply and then try to boot like that. if it doesn't beep its a dead motherboard? then plug in the video card and see if it works? and then the RAM right?

Dead motherboard... just plugged my trusty old BX back in and it works just fine..

Damn that sucks. I allready sold the BX board... gotta be without a computer now untill They RMA the board... GRR i just got it too

Well, you should have a CPU in it and either a video card or RAM in it. It should beep with either NO video card or RAM.

Nope must be a dead board because my trusty BX board works fine... God damn AMD stuff I was hoping it would be easier this time.

Problem still could be your CPU. I can't believe that people are selling these with ONLY the pencil trick. They could at least do them with the Defogger Repair Fluid.

True. If everything else works elsewhere, then that doesn't mean CPU. Except for, of course, they "claim" that the CPU is pretested.

Nope didn't drop it. It came in bubble wrap though. no staic wrap just bubble wrpa maybe that did it. I have no clue ...

NO tray just bubble wrap nothing else. I think that might have done it I am not sure though.

I have no other way to test it. Does anyone here have a working duron system? that could test my CPU?

Where did you buy this from? Sounds like a real neato place. I guess its good they didn't just slap it in an envelope and mail it to you.

After reading that last thread and hearing how the CPU was chipped probably from mismounting the HSF during a pre-test, I'm not surprised they didn't use a tray.
