Abit SE6 problems.

I bought an Abit SE6 Mobo. It was working great for a month. p3-800 fcpga. then it just died.. i've swapped everything out.. everything. 5 video cards.. different ram.. different power supplies.. everything.. i even got it confermed at a local place saying that it is for sure the motherboard. i sent it to my retailer, atacom.com . they are saying that nothing is wrong with it. what it does is..:
i get no video, and sometimes post beeps.
if you let it sit for 3 days. it will work.. temporaraly.. if you let it run.. it seems fine.. until, you restart it. then your back at the same point you were before.
i called intel just to see if they thought it could be the chip somehow damaging the board, but.. they said that's not possible.. (i have swapped the chip out too) never-the-less, they were more then happy to send me a new chip.. (i knew the extra cash for a retail chip would be good to have spent). the board is under manufacturers warentee, so i dont' understand why atacom doesn't just give me a new one.
as of late.. i've been hearing that abit's boards are starting to have a high rma percentage.. what happened to the good old days of the rock solid BH6 for the celron 300a ?? btw. i emailed abit and told them what is happeneing.. hopefully they'll have advise for me, or will perhaps get atacom to get me a new board..

btw.. i didn't even do any overclocking.. so they can't say i runied it.. and i most definetly have proper cooling.. super micro sc760-a case w/ extra fans from super micro

the board might be getting shorted easily

have u tried the latest bios and is yoru cpu mounted with heatsink correctly

i have bought 3 so far and i have been using it since se6 came out
no probs here

yeah.. everything is mounted properly.. i bought a retail chip.. and i even had it professionaly installed so that abit nor intel could say anything.
i do have the latest bios too.. i let it sit for a week so that i could flash it.. didn't help at all..

this is getting redicules... atacom says nothing is wrong and they are gunna send it back. they are gunna run all night tests on it and if nothing goes wrong.. it's comming back..
this has already been done.. nothing will show up.. they are to stupid to restart the thing like i tell them.. i had to show the local place what was wrong by doing it myself because ppl don't listen.. there is no way i'm gunna drive to california from wisconsin to get this fixed.. if they cant do anything.. i'm just gunna send it to abit.. with a long letter.. either they replace it, fix it, or give me my money back.. if they do nothing and send it back.. it's gunna come back to them again.. i don't care if i end up doubling the price on the board in shipping.. it's getting replaced.. that's what the 1-year warentee is for..

Just make sure you give your input about Atacom to resellerratings.com

I have the EXACT same problem, sent the board, and they send it back.

oaky.. i got atacom to let me return it.. they are gunna charge me a 15% restocking fee.. fu*k 'em!! so.. now i need a new board. time to find the best one.. i still think that abit is the best.. but.. no way in hell am i buying anything from atacom..ever.. and i strongly encourage the same for you guys.

Rookie with simulare problem..
Sometimes system hangs when "veryfing DMI Pooldata" .
I have to reset the computer and load "normal" and it works again.
Any tips???
(WIN ME,P3-733,128Mb SiemensPC133,Creat.GeF.annh.pro. etc...)

I have heard that the ASUS CULS2 is a good board to go with. I would have gone with it but it was not available when I built my system. I went with the SE6 instead and have had no problems.

I think the SE6 and the CUSL2 are both great boards. The main theme here is that the resellers are supposed to provide the support for the most part. Quite a few buyers aren't really aware of that fact, and they (we) learn the hard way that there is a difference between "price" and "cost". There are some differences in the price you pay, but there are HUGE differences in the service the reseller subsequently provides. Ergo, the cost.
Two of us were just sharing the lack of enthusiasm of a particular reseller in helping correct a problem.
I have learned a lot, and one of my big lessions is to look at resellerratings.com
